The minor league seasons start (hopefully) in less than 4 weeks and we haven’t heard a peep from Minor League Camp. I’m assuming most, if not all, of the beat guys left Fort Meyers with the major league team. With the complex being closed to fans, can we expect to hear anything from Minor League Camp?
Also, are all of the guys even there yet? I know they’re supposed to be reporting in waves starting on the 2nd but there hasn’t been a solid schedule. Is that going to be enough to get these guys ramped up?

This may not mean anything, and it's pure speculation, but while Portland has made an announcement about ticket sales, I haven't seen anything from Greenville or Salem. I wonder if they are preparing for the possibility that the AA guys report first and have a normal-duration spring training but the lower levels get pushed back a week or two. I would think it's also possible that games in the minors start with spring-training-esque rules about shorter games or rolling innings.
ETA: I know it feels like it's been forever, but it's still only 2021.

Guys are still reporting. The intake process takes time - it's not even clear they're starting workouts yet.
As I said on the podcast, I tried to see if they'd let me come down (2nd shot on 4/20, so I could've scooted down after) but sounds like no media. We'll try to get reports from scouts.
I'm working on getting a roster, but VTSox and I are tracking who's reported based on socials, so that list so far (which isn't necessarily complete - just who's there based on their IG):
Jeremy Wu-Yelland Chase Shugart Zach Bryant Yusniel Padron-Artiles Jose Espada Enmanuel De Jesus Brock Bell Juan Daniel Encarnacion Brainer Bonaci Brendan Cellucci Bradley Blalock Brayan Bello Johan Mieses Joan Martinez Oddanier Mosqueda Derel Belen Christian Koss Nathanael Cruz Jose Adames Ceddanne Rafaela Merfy Andrew-Marmolejos Rob Kwiatkowski Jordan DiValerio Cuba Bess Joey Stock Blaze Jordan Cameron Cannon Nick Northcut Graham Hoffman Wilkelman Gonzalez Jose Garcia Felix Cepeda Bryan Gonzalez Roldani Baldwin Bryan Mata Jacinto Arredondo Joey Meneses Jonathan Diaz Antoni Flores Kutter Crawford Wil Dalton
Only names of note who appear to have reported to the DR Academy who might have come stateside are Luis Perales and Juan Chacon. But again, none of this is official - it might be that some GCL guys aren't set to come stateside until some full-season guys are gone (although that the likes of Cruz ARE there makes me curious what the deal is with Perales).

Is there further guidance on the minor league seasons? I believe from my last google search, that the non-rookie leagues are still at May 4th. I ask because if we are scouting the Royals and Mets for potential rookie league players to be named later, will that season be starting in June, as in the past?

Nothing yet on complex leagues. I think they're still figuring all that out.

there was a report from soemwhere, not sure if it was on here, or I got it on the radio, but there were rumors of the RS minor leaguers playing the Mets minor leaguers informally this past weekend. Did anyone else hear anything about that?

Did anyone else hear anything about that? I believe the alt site played the Mets alt site this past weekend in Brooklyn (they were definitely there in Brooklyn per the Worcester Red Sox's socials). Haven't seen anything reported on how those scrimmages went. They're slated to have scrimmages in Worcester this weekend.

Logan Browning and Nixson Munoz have retired in the past week or so. Munoz in particular was surprising given that he was the club's 2019 Latin Program Pitcher of the Year and pitched pretty well in his native Nicaragua this winter. As for Browning, he pitched well in Greenville in 2019 but never had stuff that would've played in the high minors. Always struck me as kind of a weird cat too.
Best of luck to both.

In addition to Browning and Munoz, the Red Sox made the following cuts yesterday:
Caleb Ramsey Yoelvis Guedez Kevin Biondic Reed Harrington Richardson Jimenez Hunter Haworth Jagger Rusconi.

Add Kervin Suarez and Everlouis Lozada to the list of cuts.
Of note, Ramsey, Guedez, Harrington, Jimenez, Suarez, and Lozada were missing from the milb spring training roster, so those appear to be more announcing cuts that had been decided previously (or were in the making pending health in camp, I guess) than new cuts based on how guys have looked. Biondic, Haworth, and Rusconi were in camp.

Peak rankings of the recent cuts:
Lozada: 26, May 2018 Suarez: 28, May 2018 Guedez: 44, November 2019 Rusconi: 54, July 2015

Suarez and Lozada seem like they are intertwined forever for some reason My first reaction as well. Kind of crazy how that worked. I believe Mata and Joan Martinez are the last two standing in this distemper at least from that class, which was the one from which MLB removed 5 players including Simon Muzziotti, who'd probably be a top 20 guy in this system. They also traded Gregory Santos and Yeison Coca from that class. Never quite understood the love for Rusconi. Had a real aggressive style of play and showed some promise early, but the style of play was part of why he couldn't stay healthy.

I remember that the Sox amateur scouts loved him, I believe because he was a kid thought to have great makeup and to potentially play above his tools. His tools, however, were not that great, he had no power and only average speed.
I thought him mostly as a kid you might draft with the idea of hoping to sign underslot and then spread some of that money elsewhere. But, his commitment to USC made that a low probability play.
Had he been able to stay in the middle of the infield, and begun to create more contact, I could see staying hopeful. He never demonstrated the ability to walk or steal, so his value would have had to be sustained by a high batting average and outstanding defense as a middle infielder. , The Sox obviously loved him more than the industry and picked him 50 to 160 slots higher than the industry view -- not that that is necessarily wildly predictive, see Yorke to a great degree, and Correa, to a lesser degree, etc. -- but, nonetheless, this has been a head scratcher to me.
I know that we all love to root for the underdog who leaves it all on the field, but that was the extent of my view of him. Best of luck to him, as he strikes me as a young man who does not need baseball to achieve success in life!
