As long as the Red Sox don't throw 82 pitches this inning, they'll have less than Cleveland.
(literally, not an exaggeration)

devers hasn't looked good at third base this afternoon, first time one could say that in a while.

Damn, MFY's third hit of the day is a 2-run HR by DJL. The game is now tied at 3.

Man what has happened to Berrios? 8 ER in 2 2/3. Not that I'm complaining.

Pitching to contact sometimes is good. Not ideal in Robles's case.

devers hasn't looked good at third base this afternoon, first time one could say that in a while. Devers may be making more good plays at 3B, but his 10 errors ranks second in MLB. We all love the guy and want him signed to a long-term contract in Boston, but let us stay real about his defense.

Everything off Robles is a missile, time to move on and give a AAA arm a shot.

What is real is that he's average even when taking into account the errors this season. Enough with the f'ing errors, because every play he makes that other 3B would not erases one error.

Pretty interesting are Jackie's batting splits home and away. You couple his hitting at Fenway along with the big RF cover responsibilities and it's hard to take him out of the lineup when the team is home against a RH starter. The offensive road numbers are terrible I'll grant you. Also I have to feel that having JBJ back, along with the defensive upgrade at 2B with Story, along with better defensive play by Devers and Xander - this has REALLY helped the pitching. Other than some botched plays in April and early May, this team has played pretty well defensively. that's reasonable. Ha. I just not sure it is worth a 25 man roster spot. I've been blowing the home/road RF platoon horn for a few weeks. He must really miss his family. At least back in the day, JBJ would mix in some insane hot streaks in with his awful cold streaks (Quick! Who has the Red Sox longest hitting streak in the last 25 years?)
JBJ should be a 4th OF but Kique is on the IL. Chaim chose to start the year with a sub-optimal OF (and Kique's prolonged slump didn't help) and now they're getting contributions from Franchy, Refsnyder and Duran, just as he probably hoped. At least they don't have to play Arroyo in RF anymore.
JBJ is 7th on the team in non-catcher PAs, ahead of only Dalbec among starters and they could both fall behind Franchy before long. I have a feeling JBJ is going to get a lot fewer starts the rest of the way and a lot more defensive replacement appearances, a role for which he is perfectly suited.

Dammit, they better not have a long rain delay on getaway day.

Pass out the brooms
I’m giving my hat tip to Hill. He deserves this I’ve been all over him. I didn’t know he’s been very good on the road.

Can't say that we haven't beaten anyone now. Go get some from the Blue Jays (if possible without our new offensive spark plug and closer)

According to Peter Gammons, Bloom is monitoring the reliever market. Of interest the previously mentioned Robertson, Daniel Bard, David Bednar and Scott Barlow. A couple guys currently in the bullpen should be renters.

I don't know what happened but that did not look like a first place, Tito-managed Guardians team. I'll take it though.

The RedSox play there schedule. One more thing when we started 11-19, fact the bullpen blew 13 games I think and everyone here was concerned with the pen going into the season, so it was not shocking, just aggravating.

3-run walkoff job for Judge. Unreal.
