They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

The one time I don't want to tank is against the Yankees. We can still play spoiler.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an MLB pitcher give up bombs at that rate. Really a great combination with the 10.80 BB/9 (helps our draft position when he’s in high leverage)

Or is throwing napalm on a spark a new bullpen inefficiency?

The Sox are missing Cole and Cortes in this series. Carpenter and Stanton are out(though Stanton is supposedly close to returning). Rizzo is having back issues. Their bullpen has been roughed up recently, too. Everything is lined up for the Sox to give the Yankees a hard time this weekend. Let’s hope it happens.

Don’t wanna hear this “struggling” rubbish! Still would like to see a little more slugging out of a COF but when the numbers are put in that context I suppose I may have been a little rough on him this season and he can be part of the solution to the OF. Guess it goes without saying that if he's a teams "best" OFer that's not what you're looking for but as a 2nd/3rd best OFer he's solid.

Looking at the lineup and seeing Hosmer and Pham makes me happy. They lengthen it nicely.

Hosmer will be great next year. Maybe Pham will be back. Would be two very low cost additions — which would allow huge spending elsewhere. Nothing not to like there.

I was surprised to see that Devers only recently passed Trevor Story for the team lead in RBI’s. It feels like Story hasn’t been seen in months.

Ken Giles dfa'd by the mariners, wonder if the sox put in a claim? Could be better than the majority of the current bullpen options.

Probably wouldn't claim him but I'd be interested in bringing him in on the prorated minimum for the rest of the season to see if he's got anything left and if so working on a 1 year extension if they like what they see.

What do you mean by great for Hosmer? Moreland-y but slightly better. If they got .270 BA, 17 Hrs, good D… huge.

Who here thought that Bobby D would have more HR than either Xander or JD by the middle of august?
