Red Sox will be part of the Scottsdale Scorpions (with the Giants, Angels, Orioles, and Braves).

Threw this up on Twitter yesterday but my early guess:
C Stephen Scott 2B Nick Yorke CIF Alex Binelas (or maybe Lugo?) SS/CF Ceddanne Rafaela
RHP Thaddeus Ward RHP Bryan Mata? LHP Brandon Walter? Someone else who needs innings. RHP Ryan Fernandez RHP Michael Gettys

Has anyone ever gone to a game? Is it any fun? Have some vacation days to burn It’s a wonderful experience and baseball vacation. Good seats and prices, lots of families and friends … and scouts. Good and often exciting baseball and prospects. The parks are first class, close drives, and in interesting towns within the metro area. Bonus: Phoenix has some of the best Mexican food in the country, largely Sonora style and lots of above average local eateries. Also take in some Frank Lloyd Wright, the Museum of the Desert, and if you have time make a run north to Sedona or Flag or even Window Rock; or south to San Xavier del Bac, or even Tucson and their great little breweries and wineries. Good weather in the Fall. Time well spent and won’t break the bank.

Dang! I'll be in Phoenix for work in mid-October, but the games don't line up with my meetings and flight itinerary.
Any chance Kavadas gets assigned? If it's approximately AA-caliber and the real question is how he'll hit higher-quality pitching, it might make sense to give him a shot and really see how much his bat should factor into future plans. Probably higher priority guys given the limited number of roster spots and the need for positional flexibility given other org's prospects, but gotta ask about the likely 2022 offensive player of the year!

Yeah, he's certainly on the short list of possibilities. Wouldn't surprise me. Plug him in as a possibility for that Binelas/Lugo spot on my projection. I do think Rafaela (performance/development-wise) and Yorke (making up for missed PT, working out of his rough year) are the two priority guys and Scott seems the fairly obvious catcher, so that fourth position player spot is up for grabs.

Updating projection
C Stephen Scott
2B Nick Yorke (Thinking they just shut him down) 1B Triston Casas UT Christian Koss CF Wilyer Abreu
CIF Alex Binelas (or maybe Lugo?)
SS/CF Ceddanne Rafaela (Sending him to Caguas seems to indicate no AFL maybe?)
RHP Thaddeus Ward
RHP Bryan Mata? LHP Brandon Walter? Someone else who needs innings. Pick 3: RHP Ryan Fernandez (health?) RHP Jacob Wallace RHP Michael Gettys RHP Ryan Zeferjahn

I am wondering if they send Hamilton. He got off to that great start (which really was just a great first series) and then struggled horribly for awhile, but he's been pretty decent since about late June. It's a funny profile because his speed will play if he gets on base at all, but he overswings like he's Bryce Harper. I'm on the skeptical side, but if the adjustments he needs to make are going to happen then he could use the reps.
Wilyer Abreu has played in the Venezuelan Winter League in the past.

Good point on Abreu. Thing is both Koss and Hamilton were there last year. Wouldn't be unprecedented to send someone for the second time. Just wondering if they want to give the spot to someone else

If Aaron Perry can ever stay healthy he could be a good reliever. When I saw him last year he was pairing a mid to high 90s fastball with two decent breaking balls. He just needs to stay on the mound.

Do you think if Noah Song ever hears about his waiver appeal being approved the Sox would send him to the Arizona Fall League.

Three Red Sox in the Scorpions' lineup this evening: Yorke leading off and playing 2B, Abreu hitting 5th and DHing, and Scott hitting 8th and catching.

Yorke leading off again, Kavadas batting cleanup, Ward on the hill. Big day for some big names in the system

Not exactly a day to remember so far for Kavadas through 3 innings. Botched a groundball off of Dominguez's bat, 2 strikeouts, and whatever just happened (a double hit to Kavadas?) that led to Thad Ward giving up a 2 run HR to Brennan Davis

Ward exits after 4.2, responsible for guys on 1st and 2nd. Struck out 7, 4 hits (1 should've been ruled and error), only walked 1, only 2 runs allowed.

Solid outing save for allowing a HR to Brennan Davis and tiring in the 5th. I'll take that.
