Alex Gordon is such a good player. The way he reinvented himself as a terrific LF after struggling in the majors and moving off third is just incredible. As always, take these stats with a grain of salt but the guy is +44 in DRS over the past two seasons (2011-2012). Hmmm... maybe the Royals can develop Eric Hosmer into a good left fielder half a decade from now.

The Royals put him in RF during interleague last season and it was, for lack of a better word, disgusting. He has nothing on Gonzo out there.

Orsillo has seemed way too excited by some of the fly balls in this series - far more than usual. That last ball by Napoli was actually one of the deeper one's, though.

I was aboard the Alex Gordon bandwagon when people kept calling him a bust and never left. Dude's got one of the prettiest swings I've ever seen. I wouldn't mind him on our team that's for sure.

Can't have dudes pitching more than 1 inning regardless of pitch count, they might die. Speaking of which, Andrew Bailey threw TEN pitches in this game and now we're relying on Andrew f'n Miller in extra innings for some reason. I. Do. Not. Understand.

And why can't Ortiz or Drew pinch hit for inferior hitters? Don't get me started on the pitch-calling to Gordon.

Farrell's got his quirks with base running and bullpen management, no doubt about that.

I assume Steven Wright might finally see some action.

OK, Cain wasn't even holding the bat right on that last pitch, and the ball was no where close. Honestly, you can't ever have Miller pitch without a guy ready to come in right behind him. I get that this is a special circumstance with the double header and all, but man. Miller is just so frustrating, especially with that potential of his.

This is about to be a horrible loss.
Also, when can we stop pretending Andrew Miller's a good pitcher?

a f^&ing 4 pitch walk with the bases loaded. Seriously, I think I trust Aceves more than Miller. I hope miller isn't long for this team with Breslow and Morales on their way back.

Game would be long over if the Sox didn't cost themselves several runs with boneheaded baserunning blunders. There's a reason why Angels-bases doesn't play anymore. That crap doesn't work.

Wait, Farrell's really letting this bum Saltalamacchia hit with Ortiz still available?

Thats what happens when you use your lefty specialist to pitch a whole inning. Miller CAN'T get out right-handed hitters. Now down to three outs. Hope something great happens.

This is about to be a horrible loss. Also, when can we stop pretending Andrew Miller's a good pitcher? Oh please, he's about to find himself and become an electric left hander... well, that's been the case for the last 7 years. I shouldn't hate too much because he was actually decent last year, but besides that, and, well including that, he always scares me when he pitches. Couldn't predict that Salty at bat any better. Good to see him hitting 5th Farrell.

At least when Ortiz gets off the DL we won't have to rely on Salty to DH in these games. At the very least Papi will be able to pinch hit in big spots. Can't wait until he comes back.

Farrell's got his quirks with base running and bullpen management, no doubt about that. It's not a Farrell thing, it's an industry thing. A large majority of active managers would do exactly the same thing. Ron Washington threw away a World Series ring doing the same thing and kept his job. Your ninth inning guy pitches in the ninth. Autopilot, no active brain cells required.

If you aren't going to pinch hit Oritz for three clearly inferior hitters down by 1, when will you pinch it him?
