The reason they moved him was to take advantage of his speed, not flexibility or versatility.
And there is a difference between getting Wong some versatility to play 2B a few times a month and moving Duran from the outfield back to the full-time. Huge difference.

Both listed at 6’3 but Mayer seems taller

Could easily be a trick of perspective and posture.

Pedro and Perales Damn. Seeing Pedro looking that old makes me feel REALLY old. That old isn't the problem, that man looks like he ate the real Pedro. Which actually makes me feel better about my own portly physique. Pedro is my favorite Red Sox player ever, so it's always great to see that smile

Is it just me, or does Bleis look a little bit less lean than 6;3", 170??

Turner is gonna be a huge fan favorite and one of our favorites because his swing is tailor made for Fenway. He's gonna get a big boost just being away from Chavez Ravine. He reminds me a little of a less goofy Kevin Millar

Turner and his wife were extremely beloved out her in L.A. especially for their contributions to charity and the community. I went to a golf charity thing he did a few yers ago and I was just super impressed by him as a human. Fans, media, teamates, service workers, anvolunteers, everone, seemed to love him. And his wife and he seemed to give real meanigful time to everyone. Class act. I'm sure the Jimmy Fund people will be excited to meet them.

I'm loving this (spring training) team so far. But then I always do -- they're the Red Sox! The only year I didn't follow them avidly was the BobbyV Reign of Error.
I gave up on the so-called journalists years ago. I only read Alex, Chad Finn, and Jen McCaffrey. And Peter Gammons, if he's having a good day.
Come on, Chaim. Show them what the Sox are made of this year. We're in it for the long haul.
Book it.

Does anyone know if 60 day DL timing could be retroactive to the start of Spring Training? Wondering because if so if it is say Feb 13 and guys like Mondesi and Whitlock aren't ready for the first couple weeks of the regular season they could conceivably use the 60 day to buy the team a little time on 40 man decisions.
Example: To avoid Goodrum's upward mobility clause they move Mondesi to the 60 day and select Goodrum. Then say Mondesi is ready on exactly day 60 to be added they've bought a couple weeks to debate between Goodrum/Ort for that spot or try to sneak one of them through the DFA process.
Typing it out like that I'm not sure it would be a worthwhile thing to do anyways but just sort of curious about it.

That's March 27. 60 days is May 26. No indication that the rule has changed.

For those on T-Mobile, reminder that you get free mlb.tv. They just sent the reminder about it today.

For those on T-Mobile, reminder that you get free mlb.tv. They just sent the reminder about it today. Thank goodness. My wife was thinking about changing plans, but I always have the absolute worst luck with phone transitions. This deal will probably be enough to just stick with T-Mobile. Looks like it can be claimed for a one-week period starting 3/28.
