I'm beginning to like the time clock. No watching the hitter stepping out, adjusting their gloves, and hitching up their pants between every damn pitch. The pitchers look like they were ready to go as soon as they got the ball. The batters were ready to hit right away, too. I thought it was great. The game only lasted 2:45. Nothing wrong with that. When's the last time you saw a MFY game under 4 hours? If you're going to play, stop screwing around, just play.
Did I mention I liked it?

Raffy trying to look like he's posing for Rodin was getting old very fast. Youngsters here are fortunate to have missed Nomar's gloves ritual.
It would have gotten old but we had a real good one for a very short period of time. I don't remember his name but a minor leaguer that we got from Seattle a few years ago, added an interesting twist.
Cheers for the pitch clock. An additional benefit is that the announcers will now have less time to discuss things like hotel lobbies and sneaker colors.

The worst thing Nomar did was inspire a generation of new englanders to do the same batting glove routine in little league. I am a part of that generation

Have a day Matthew Lugo I like the sound it made coming off his bat I don't know, but this kid seems to impress at every level, whether it's, fall ball, winter ball, Greenville, now Spring Training. He just doesn't seem to be phased or overmatched whether he's facing a major leaguer or rookie ball pitcher. I think he's gonna be a big leaguer, either here or somewhere else.

As I have noted before, SteveofBradenton and I watched Lugo in Florida. For us both, Bleis, Rafaela and Lugo have been primary standouts the past couple of years here. Lugo can field, has a good arm and has developed pop. I wish more of soxprospects nation could enjoy the FCL (GCL) as we have been fortunate enough to for a good number of years. Lucky.

Knock on wood, but almost all of the young arms (MLB or AAA) have really impressed me so far.

Wow Duran and Dalbec are going to make for some tough decisions come end of ST. Duran's new swing seems to have him quicker to the ball

Cam Boozer's nickname should be House, because he's the size of one and hell he could build one.

I can’t get excited until they show something in the season

Liked Rafaela's two AB's today. Good solid contact twice and only one swing at a ball out of the zone. ( if that, the pitch was close).

My theory on him is he can't be platooned. Not to say the splits are not real but he seems to do best when he's playing every day.

He’s had in his career two times in which he was a titan for about 100 plate appearances and other that that he’s hit like backup middle infielder on a bad treat.

Liked Rafaela's two AB's today. Good solid contact twice and only one swing at a ball out of the zone. ( if that, the pitch was close). Glad to hear Merloni highlight Rafaela's stellar outfield defense on several occasions today...saying he could be gold glove already. I've seen few Rafaela games truthfully, but just the same, witnessed some specular CF catches.. Hearing Merloni chime in on that score gave some validation to my in person observations. No one should sleep on Bleis in that department either....another excellent run 'em down guy. IF they continue to develop offensively, we'll have a helluva n' outfield in a couple of years. The minors will be extra fun to follow this season.
