Does anyone know the expected Portland starters this week? I’m thinking of heading down to bing this week and I’m trying to figure out which day would be best.

Wow, that wasn't on my radar at all. Red Sox letting the world know where they stand in the Roman Anthony debate. A little wild they pulled the trigger on a guy slugging .317.

Good for him. It would have been dumb but I was going to ask the other day about when can we expect the stat line to match the hype?

Roman Anthony promoted to Greenville. Exactly one month after his 19th birthday. How many guys at high-A are that young?

Salem is coming to town in a couple of weeks and I was looking forward to seeing Bleis, Anthony, and Mikey Romero. Now I may not see any of them.

Good for him. It would have been dumb but I was going to ask the other day about when can we expect the stat line to match the hype? His only issue is a very high ground ball rate. He makes contact in the zone, doesn't chase, and hits the ball very hard for his age (strong correlation typically there). He just hits the ball on the ground more than half the time. If he were hitting the ball in the air he'd easily be #3 in the system for me. But the question is can he start doing that without messing with everything else.

Chris, have you heard anything about Anthony's 'make-up'? In regards to his potential willingness to tweak his swing in order to gain more loft etc.

Angel Pierre working his way up the lineup, now 6th!
Freili with 5 errors to go along with his slow start at the plate.

Just looking up famous Dominicans, I couldnt find anyone that managed more extra base hits than strikeouts as a 17 year old. Cespedes is at 4-2.

Christofher Paniagua reached base 5 times (three hits, two walks). Looks like Obed Balderas may have left with an injury in the 3rd. He was cruising, then covered first on a play, walked the next batter, then was removed. Something to monitor if he misses his next start.

There’s a non-zero (maybe even decent?) chance that Cespedes and Bleis play on the same team next year

With Anthony being promoted, I really appreciate the aggressive approach the org has taken this year on promoting promising players (Mayer, Drohan, Troye, et al). Here’s to hoping that it’s Guerrero and Fernandez to Worcester next.

Pitched at every level along the way too.
