If we got a little bit of luck in the lottery we would've been on the clock rn instead of the Twins 😞

Longenhagen says buzz about Sox cutting a deal at 14. I hate the strategy of going with the cheaper option over the best. Thats a huge oversimplification. The difference between most 3rd rounders from last year and Roman Anthony is a perfect example of the benefit of this strategy.

Do you think all things being equal the Pirates would rather have Mayer or Davis? Especially a pick semi high like 14th Especially if someone drops...but lets see where this guy they picked at 14 is actually ranked.

You do realize a draft class comprises of more than one player, yeah? You can’t say “all things being equal” when the entire point of going under slot is that the rest of the draft is theoretically greater with the added bonus money.

Sounds like Jacob Wilson at #6. That opens up a few potential scenarios for the Red Sox, esp. as Brayden Taylor was heavily linked

I am stunned by the talk of the RS, especially in the 1st round picking anyone because of the position he plays. I know you have Mayer and from all appearances he is the SS of the future. But if the $$ is equal, would you not draft Shaw if you believe he is the best player on your draft board, because there is a chance he may play the same position as your best prospect?
If the money is equal, given that these kids are far away from the majors, don’t you automatically go best player available?
Same with these long term baseball guys tweeting something like, I expect the RS to draft X player at SS, especially in light of their need for right handed starting pitching..
