oof. My man is 30 in June. That's a full three years older than Song. This is a flier for sure but I long for the days when we have enough arms that we don't bring in a flier because it would take innings away from a better prospect.

It's the last guy in the pen for Worcester or Portland if other arms get hurt in spring training. Relax.

There has never been a day when the Red Sox didn't take fliers on MLFA relievers.

I humbly accept my well-deserved flogging. Just need some more clips of guys at The Fort and I’ll be fine.

Bailey was the Giants pitching coach, maybe he wants to work with him in spring training?

Red Sox signed SS Joe Dunand to a minor league deal. Although the transaction says SS, looks like he played more of 1B/3B in the past two years. He had been with the Marlins org and is apparently the nephew of A-Rod. www.milb.com/player/joe-dunand-656388

He is (or at least was) a legit 3B, the arm definitely plays. Kinda looks like one of the guys who really got set back by the pandemic. 2017 draftee, spent 2019 in Doulbe-A where he was meh, then struggled horribly in 2021. Much better the last two years. I think he's a good fit, roster-wise. Seems likely that Meidroth will be getting reps all over the field, and Dunand profiles as a pretty realistic option if Devers goes down. He's 28, but he cut his K rate in Triple-A pretty significantly last year.

My two least favorite players ever.

I hated ARod as a player but I find him to be a goofy dork in retirement, I find it endearing in a way. Jeter is another story lol

The first thing I think of with A-Rod is him slapping the ball out of Bronson Arroyo’s glove as he was running to first in the 2004 ALCS. He then acted so innocent as the umpire called him out. He was he jerk as a player, so I am glad he has redeemed himself in many people’s eyes.

Some right-handed pop and position flexibility. Let's go.

I am glad the commissioner canceled the Manny and Nomar for A-Wrong and Ordonez trade. Back to minor league free agents…the ones added have done a nice job of filling in the gaps on the AAA roster with mostly players with MLB experience. Prospects with upside and up/down players with experience have me looking forward to the start of the AAA and AA seasons. Impressive. If I count right they have picked up nearly a dozen players this off-season which have a chance to contribute to the system, more than a few at Fenway. The crew has been active.
