Not sure how much of this game I'll be watching with the Sweet 16 going on at the same time and the 10 PM start. I am sure I will be flipping back and forth and watching a few ABs but almost certainly will not be staying up 12:30-1AM for the final inning.

Probably best to start a new thread for this to keep it out of the Gameday talk.

I know ST stats don't necessarily count, especially individually, but as a staff the Sox only allowed 130 runs, Seattle, for all their talent allowed thirty more. We have a thin margin for error pitching wise, but if they can prevent runs on a similar clip this offense will score runs. It's a rare bit of optimism for me this spring that I am sure will come back to bite me, and will be quoted back to me if it all goes to the crapper. Alas, its game 1, and so here's to starting the season off 1-0.

Happy Opening Day, everyone. I have nothing insightful to opine upon. I'm just ready to see what this team can do and see how the young guys develop. Let's go!

Trout interrupts the Corbin Burnes coronation by going yard on a hanging slider
You love to see it

I like that there letting the kids play. I remember before a veteran always beat out a kid. There too much pressure on the pitching staff . I like the bullpen pieces it’s deep too. I love our kids. I hope a kid turns a big corner on the farm . Bello need one more.
I was harping on them getting pitching . But I see u count too much on these veteran big money guys. I don’t mind building it. It’s the hardest thing to accomplish . Imagine if they could put Whitlock and Houck in the bullpen wow. Crawford is not a 3. I’m pumped for this team to kick ass. I agree with cdj . I believe in the wild card. Just get in. The big 3 are coming. I don’t care what the outsiders are saying. There so many smart people in this site.

Traditionally these extended West Coast trips have been brutal on the Red Sox. Hoping that the good vibes from Spring Training can carry over into the real season. If they can win one of our four in Seattle and can finish the road trip 3-7 or 4-6 that would be pretty good. 1-9 or 2-8 would be a tough way to start the season and probably dig a hole that they can't get out of record-wise.

I am setting my sights a little higher than an 1-3 start. Could it happen, sure.

Rafaela and O'Neil in vs a tough righty with Abreu on the bench is a choice you're allowed to make
(First time bashing Cora all year, feels nice!)

Duran LF Devers 3B Story SS Casas 1B O'Neill RF Yoshida DH Rafaela CF Valdez 2B Wong C I don't love Story in the 3 hole but this lineup can be really good if things break right.

Some people are disappointed we didn’t get Ohtani. Some people are disappointed we didn’t get Yamamoto Some people are disappointed we didn’t sign Montgomery Some people are dissatisfied in the roster construction. We didn’t invest in pitching, we didn’t trade for pitching. Henry is cheap! Maybe, maybe some people think we are enabling a cheap front office by buying tickets, attending games and tuning them into our TV and radio devices.
I. DONT. CARE. Baseball is here.
As far as I’m concerned this team hasn’t lost one single game yet. They play them for a reason. I am excited for baseball. I’m fully invested in this season; for better or worse.
Happy opening day all.

Feel like lineup is deeper/extended
I wonder where they would put Grissom? Possibly 2 between Devers and Duran?
