Lou: "Well, it wasn't the cleanest game we've seen all year . . ." Yeah, you could say that.

Kenley's juices weren't flowing merely trying to get a one run save, he needed the runner in scoring position

Well sneak away with a win today. Probably don't win that game if they were literally playing any other team but a W is a W. Jansen had better sharpen up or he's going to need to be replaced from the closers role. Still no hits allowed, he’s unhittable!

If you'd told me a week ago that the Sox would be 5-2 right now, I'd have badly hurt my old self trying to do a celebratory back flip. Enthusiasm for 2024 rising.

It's a good thing the A's are historically bad. Some ugly fundamentals but a 3 game sweep and now another series against a bad team, but Red Sox of 2023 bad, not probably 120 loss bad. In this case you can't fault them for who they play. They had 3 games and won 3 games. This road trip is a good way to set the tone for the season and build confidence. Could set up for a nice run even when they play the better teams.

God I hate watching Jensen pitch. I feel you, Kimbrel 2018 playoffs is still my personal nightmare

Last two games were pretty ugly but going 5-2 to start a 10 game west coast trip is huge. The pitching staff and D taking turns bailing the other out is the kind of thing you see from a good team. Was really hoping the dbacks would be able to take down the yanks again too.

The A's draft pick can't be better than 10th for the 2025 draft after two straight lottery picks. They got 6 and 4 with the worst and second worst teams in baseball those years.

God I hate watching Jensen pitch. Remember the guy on here who used to go walk his dog whenever Kimbrel pitched? I have good news for that dog.

A sweep is a sweep but that is a 50 win A's team at best. Gotta hit with runners on. Gotta hit better period.

I was curious if they had any hope of being good any time soon. I found according to MLB.com their only top 100 guy on their list is Wilson who they picked last year who is ranked 65. So not much hope for Oakland in the near future.

I’ll take a 5-2 start regardless of opponent any day of the week.

That may have been the last save by a Red Sox pitcher in the Coliseum. My favorite is probably this one:
Thanks for the memories, Oakland!

Marlins off to 0 and 7 start. Maybe they will be looking to make some realistic deals sooner than later.

The last two were . . . let's say aesthetically displeasing, but they count the same as September games against the AL East when the team's scraping for a wild card.
