After round 10 some team is going to draft Boldt or Wahl. I'd like to see the Red Sox be that team and have the option of potentially signing that player instead of Denney.

Its better to get Yaz' grandson after the the 10th round at least you could offer him a decent bonus there ~100K w/o counting against the pool. Yeah - that makes sense, too

Wouldn't it make more sense to take Yaz with one of the picks where we need to save money on a senior sign instead of some no name? Taking him after the 10th doesn't help us save any money. Unless your saying he's going to want a fair bonus, but I hadn't heard that.

Yaz is a decent prospect. He's not going to sign for way below slot.

Adams, Mike University of Tampa (FL) LHP L/L SR 6'03" 215lbs DOB: 10/04/90Adams had pitched just 16 innings during his first three years at Tampa before finding his niche as the Spartans’ bullpen ace this season. He excelled coming out of the bullpen and was named a Division II All-American. Adams throws his fastball in the upper 80s with good movement. His best pitch is his curveball, which grades as a plus offering, and he also throws a serviceable changeup. He has a loose, easy delivery, which helps him to throw all three pitches for strikes. Adams redshirted his freshman year and has one year of eligibility left. He has LOOGY written all over him.

The question is why? What do they say the definition of insanity is?

Well, I am pretty confident that this guy is going to sign for way way below slot. So if we are able to sign Denney, Adams will have already been useful.

yeah a Loogy who stalls in Salem Nah, he'll do okay with junk 'stuff' and make it all the way to AAA as a starter and people will think he's belongs in the major league rotation. I am sure he will be in the bullpen, and who knows, with that curve ball he could see the majors as a second lefty reliever. LOOGY's do not need to throw 95 mph if they have a good curveball.
