Good to see he's increasing his value as the trade deadline approaches. Say it ain't so....! I want Bogaerts, Cecchini & WMB on our future team. We can find spots for them all. If Cecchini can't play 3B, he certainly can't play second. So far he looks like son of Youk at the plate. If Bradley can survive and make the jump...phew we have more grinders on the horizon! I gather (gut) that Bogaerts, tho no whiz, is our best potential fielder at 3B but that thought does not overly excite to date. WMB is not an outfielder IMO but perhaps Bogaerts or Cecchini could become one. In any event, Hail to the farm!!

If we are first in the AL with Carp, Gomes, or Nava defensively in LF, I don't see why Cecchinni, Middlebrooks, or Bogaerts would not be able to adequately be able to play there, should the need arise. Yes all of them would lose value playing there, but the team would still be filling a position at 500K. Gives us extra money to be invested elsewhere.

WMB would be a big NO in the outfield.

WMB is a big no in general.

Cecchini will probably wind up either in LF or at 1b. A lot depends upon WMB. If he improves on his plate discipline to merely be a hacker as opposed to trying to emulate Shea Hillenbrand then he might have enough of a future to come up, play decent defense at 3b, bop 25 homers and put up a .750ish OPS. That's a big IF at this point. His offense, while questionable at 3b, should not even be considered for 1b as I've heard thrown around.
I'm convinced enough that the Sox will have the best middle infield defense with Pedroia at 2b and Iglesias at SS, which is a big thing, because I'm convinced that Iglesias will hit enough to justify his presence in the lineup.
That pushes Bogaert to either 3b or a corner OF spot depending upon Will Middlebrooks.
I could see a scenario where WMB plays 3b, Iglesias plays SS, Cecchini plays 1b and hits like Jon Olerud lite (not too lite), and Bogaerts winds up in LF. It's not like the Sox are knee deep in impact corner OF.
I think Cecchini's defense is probably suspect at 3b, but he should be able to handle LF or 1b (ala Youk whom he reminds me of offensively). I think he has enough offense to be a 1b.
I think all these things will sort themselves out in time. I used to worry about the potential logjam at 3b, but I think things are getting a little clearer.
