Plus don't forget they play in a stupid "ban-box". 1 billion dollar stadium what a joke every left handed hitter has power in that stadium. You could say the same about Fenway and right handed batters. Its not exactly the old Robison Field in St. Louis.

12 K's through 7 and under 100 pitches. It must feel good for Lackey to leave pariah status behind.

Its not something built two years ago just renovated.

So what? All new stadiums should be generic? The uniqueness of baseball stadiums is a feature, not a bug.

So is John Lackey the best pitcher on this staff? Considering Clay is made of tissue paper, I think he might be.

I hate hate the cookie-cutter stadiums of the 1970s. I love the unique features of the very old and the new stadiums. I really like Minute Maid Park and AT&T park. I am fine with pretty much any reasonable stadium dimensions, long as no one tries to recreate the Baker Bowl:

47-33 with one game left in the first half. On pace for mid-90 win total. I surely didn't expect that. My pick was 83 wins. Danger signs lurking with Buchholz health and Lester's struggles. Oh, and the closer issues. But, the positives outweight them; Iglesias, Lackey, Nava. A stacked team at AAA waiting to chip in ahd help.

If you read my earlier posts which you didn't I was trying to address why the MFY'S keep winning. One of the reasons is that new stadium makes every left handed hitter a hall of famer. Then the other person asked about Fenway being small and I said it's different Fenway was around for 100 years. Yankee stadium is brand new. There is nothing you can do about Fenway . But Yankee stadium could of been designed anyway they wanted. They decided to have launching pads for left handed hitters.

They have a park that they can exploit to a certain extent (and it's not as extreme as you're making it out to be; Ichiro and Hafner and Overbay still suck). So do lots of teams. Still not seeing the problem.

Iglesias always looked like he had a good short stroke. He just couldn't give it much pop and he tried to pull everything. His change in approach is what changed, and I don't see that going away. Of course he will regress but to me he should be the current front runner for ROY already, and it's not even close.

Lackey is really back. Consistently at 93 hitting 94. The slider is just a backbreaker. Motion is consistent, repeating his delivery with each throw. This is a really good pitcher. This is the guy we paid for! The league minimum team option is looking pretty nice right about now. If he were say 8-2 instead of 5-5, he might have been considered for the AS game. He's our #2 now.

There are a lot of issues this year that insanely improved depth over last season has covered nicely.

I am rooting for Iggy ROY too, but he just fell behind Yasiel on avg, leading in OBP. somehow I don't think Iggy will catch Yasiel on slugging.

He won't be competing with Iglesias for AL Rookie of the Year. There are actually a number of decent candidates in the NL this year, but the American League field is pretty barren. Using fWAR to give a rough idea, there are 10 rookies in the NL with a higher fWAR than Iglesias' total of 1.5. In the AL, his closest competetors are Dan Straily, Yan Gomes and Leonys Martin each with an fWAR of 1.1.
