Want to see Workman throw a start so bad for Boston can taste it. Good luck today Brandon. Keep those quality start strings going and show 'em.

Rarely this season am I as disappointed this season as I am when I see Greenville put up a bunch of runs only to notice Mookie isn't playing.

Per Cafardo, looks like WMB to AAA and Brandon Snyder to the big club.

Per Cafardo, looks like WMB to AAA and Brandon Snyder to the big club. Solid move. Get Synder's value up and trade him as a piece. He may help us before hand and allow us to sit Drew. AND most importantly give Middlebrooks a month in Pawtucket to get his act together.

A Snyder promotion would mean a 40-man move.
Most likely (in my preferred order):
DFA Wright DFA Bard (or put him on 60-day DL for oblique) DFA Beato DFA De La Torre DFA Hassan

So what's the counter move for the 40 man? Bard to the 60 day?
Edit: What he said...

I like Workman, but I really want to see a breakdown of his and Britton's 5th/6th/7th IP of each start. If you were to look at WHIP by inning, how much of a drop is 'normal' for a good starter, and where are these guys? It 'seems' they are high, but I'm sure since I'm looking at that, I'm biased. But really Britton was the best SP in the minors for the last month, and is on the 40 man. I still wouldn't be shocked if he got a call if it lined up best with his turn. Even ahead of Workman/Ranaudo/Barnes (all not on 40).

I think Hassan might have played his way into keeping a 40 man spot so far. Wright or Beato could go, because the replacements are plenty.
As for above, I guess the committment to Webster and effectiveness of Aceves makes Britton an unlikely candidate.

Wright is the obvious name. Webster, Aceves, and De La Rosa are ahead of him for spot start priority, and he wouldn't really fit in the bullpen, either.

Probably in the minority on this, but I'd like to see Webster get another start instead of moving him back and forth between Pawtucket and Boston. His stuff is "electric" and he may feel much more confident with a full week up.

Ross to the 60-day DL is the move. Not eligible to return until mid August.
Ryan Lavarnway, here's your opportunity.

Snyder can cover 1B, for the guy who's got that deteriorating hip, 3B, for the kid who's really a shortstop waiting to push aside the short-term incumbent, and in a real pinch catcher, giving the team some depth at a position that's now short one 35-year old who's on the 60 day disabled list.

Bailey could be sent down, but there are no indications that he won't get every opportunity to work things out in major league low-leverage innings.
Hopefully Colorado will provide them.

I don't foresee Bailey going down to the minors, although theoretically he could not prevent such a move.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm at a Louisville Bats game and I just watched Lars Anderson bit a 1st pitch jack out of the STADIUM onto I-64 west, off of Armando gallaraga...it was beautiful

Hassan still hitting, 3 for 3--and playing RF. If he could ever make progress on defense the way Nava has so that he could play both corners and not just LF....
