Wouldn't shock me if he starts on PUP.

Seems like they probably want to give reps to younger guys and if they need someone like McDermott later, either he or a reasonable replacement is likely available later.

Couple things on the WR topic:
- we have no idea how Bourne has recovered so a start on the PUP wouldn't be unheard of
- IIRC, a team can place players (2 max??) on IR during the final cut day and still have them eligible to return (previously, they'd have to make the initial 53).
Wouldn't surprise if they find a way to keep the majority in the org somehow.

Reiss saying NE had an offer to move up to 32 but Buffalo chose to deal with Carolina instead.
With Legette and Coleman going next before NE traded back, his assumption is that 1 of them was the target (and may have had both graded higher than Polk).

Most upsetting thing of the draft? Why did they pick a CB, should have went 100% offense! Lol 😆 Heard they might use him at RB (I did NOT actually hear that).

And in his Zoom, Milton says Patriots have not mentioned a position switch.

I guess Brugler thinks Milton could try TE if QB doesn't work out. Lol doesn't surprise me one bit, it's like nothing has changed since Bill left. Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you but I believe it was in his scouting report (ie not Patriot specific).

Caught the backend of a discussion on the radio and, if I understood it correctly, AD Mitchell has diabetes and is quite terrible at managing it.

Speaking of "talking", upon being drafted by the Bears, punter Tory Taylor got a text from new teammate Caleb Williams saying "Hey, you're not gonna punt too much here".
The old guy in me says these guys talk too much. But there is another part of me that says "Good on ya!"

Wouldn't surprise me if they take another WR. Seems to be potential starters at RB and IOL which are both positions of need (at least long term).
Many feel this is a shallower draft so, in other positions of need, there may be little difference between late round and UDFA.

Wonder if they trade back one of these 4ths to bridge the gap (no 5th) or keep the 2 higher picks.

On the surface, it feels like these guys were "reaches" in part bc they had teammates who were better (but also Top of the 1st rd talents).
Would Polk have been higher if Odunze wasn't there. Would Wallace have been higher if he hadn't had Fashanu on the left side.
They matched a riskier pick (Maye instead of one of the WRs or Alt) with safer picks. Were there honeruns on the board, sure? But, as UMass said, the hit doubles.

Like Fisher/Alt, wonder if that had to do with Fashanu being there. Ht/Wt seems fine for LT. Though I'm also seeing some say he could contribute immediately at RT or G so maybe this has nothing to do with LT. UPDATE - Wolf just said they believe he can play LT so, there you go.

Reading a lot of Keon Coleman love despite poor run times.
Also, reports were that NE tried to trade up into 1st to get WR (Legette?). Or maybe one of the guys they like is still on the board.

FWIW, none of the ESPN Guys, Brugler, PFF, ranked in that range. Only CBS had him at 67.
That being said, Jeremiah said team grades at this point are all over the map. Guys with 6th rd grades for some teams could be in play tonight for others. Thought teams generall agree on top 50 or so but then it varies drastically.
So who knows how long Baker will last.
