Really nice job by the refs trying to get the Knicks back into this game. That’s weird. I didn’t notice the refs hitting step back threes while Luke Kornet stumbles around. They are to blame for zero consistency and ridiculously soft Ts. I wish terrible things on these officials.

This new wave of NBA refs should be thrown into a volcano.

The Pacers were great tonight, so it’s not worth reading too much into this loss.
But the Celtics offense still feels way more one-dimensional than it should be. The lack of attacking and free throw attempts is inexplicable and makes it harder than it needs to be to score.

Jaylen back to having tunnel vision. He’s a different player he simplifies his decision-making, but he’s decided to go back to hero ball in the 3rd quarter.

Probably still the most disappointing loss of the year in terms of how we just didn't show up today and acted like it was still a holiday. Punked by a hungrier Magic team. Today felt like one of those games that happens during the season. The Charlotte loss was way more inexplicable in my opinion.

Does this team actually watch film? If so, how do they continue to puke all over themselves the exact same way in every close game?
Let Jrue or Derrick bring the ball up and get Tatum the ball off action. Stop letting him walk it up the court and stall the offense late in games.

They played like clowns the entire second half against Toronto, all game against Memphis, and all night against Charlotte. Tonight, it finally caught up to them. Zero leadership and complete choke jobs from their stars who allegedly are in their primes. Agreed. The only saving grace for me if there is one is that last year each of these games would have likely been comfortably lost versus competitive. The loss itself doesn’t bother me, even to a team as bad as Charlotte. It’s the same patterns and bad habits following this group around late in games, and they can’t seem to shake them.

He had 31-9-4 at halftime, but he was horrendous in the second half and down the stretch. And that’s after an 8-turnover game last night and a 1-for-11 performance from 3 against Toronto. I don’t love when people lump him and Jaylen together since Tatum is miles above him as a player, but they just can’t seem to break some of these bad habits down the stretch of games. They’ve reshuffled the roster around them multiple times, so at this point, it’s hard to point the blame anywhere else.

As bad as the refs have been, this has been a dreadful effort against a undermanned Memphis team. Really bad leadership from the Jays tonight.

WTF - Tatum with 8 turnovers? Where is his mind? Four of them were offensive fouls, maybe one of which was legit.

The Celtics have 7 turnovers to 3 and 1 offensive rebound (!) to 7. That’s 10 extra possessions for the Grizzlies. The Celtics lack of effort tonight is why this is a one possession game at the half, not the referees. The stripes telling Scalabrine to calm down? You should be thanking them. Yeah, I’m gonna put some of this on the refs. The young officials in this league are arrogant and bad, which is not a good combo.

Absolutely absurd whistle against the Celtics this half.
There are too many young, inexperienced officials in this league, and it’s showing on a night like tonight.

What’s funny is Tatum really didn’t have “it” tonight. He had a couple bad misses that a couple years ago would’ve turned into a 4-for-17 performance. Instead, he ends up with a 29-8-6 line and some huge plays down the stretch. Big-time win tonight. I don’t have numbers to back it up but that fadeaway he’s got working this year reminds me of elite scorers in the last (bird, Jordan, Kobe etc). Seems to have it on both sides too. With some of those shots, you can see a mix of the training he’s done with both Kobe and Pierce coming together. That’s a scary combo, lol.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team get more undeserved whistles than the Sixers.

Slightly off topic, but it needs to be said that Steve Kerr is one of the biggest phonies out there. He had the audacity to call out Marcus last year for diving for a loose ball. Meanwhile, we don’t hear a word from him when CP3 dives directly into Mike Conley’s knees, and he’s been enabling Draymond’s garbage for a decade now.
Just the purest of hypocrites on top of being an overrated coach. It’s a joke that he gets to represent team USA over someone like Spo.

Tatum was electric, but Jrue quietly had a dominant game. He blew up so many Knicks’ possessions and got to so many loose balls.

I expected plenty of Tatum-to-Porzingis assists this year, but the Jaylen-Porzingis two-man game has been a pleasant surprise.

good to see heart at the end, would’ve liked to see the intensity much earlier The issue is that they stop trusting their system and teammates as soon as the opponent starts to muck things up. Once they have a big deficit and start playing like they have nothing to lose, they find their rhythm again - but often times, it’s just a little too late. It was a similar story against Minnesota, but that team was too incompetent offensively to build a bigger lead on them. But ultimately, these same bad habits continue to persist, and it will hold them back if they can’t find a way to overcome it.

I don't think Brown is stupid - but does he lack self awareness? He seems to think he has skills that he simply doesn't have. Maybe he is just impossibly stubborn. He is incredibly frustrating, though. This is pretty accurate - he’s not the smartest basketball player, and he’s shown zero awareness or willingness to learn from his mistakes. He’s single-handedly the reason they’re behind right now.

This team has shown very little interest in playing defense all season. They should change that.
