Slightly off topic, but it needs to be said that Steve Kerr is one of the biggest phonies out there. He had the audacity to call out Marcus last year for diving for a loose ball. Meanwhile, we don’t hear a word from him when CP3 dives directly into Mike Conley’s knees, and he’s been enabling Draymond’s garbage for a decade now.
Just the purest of hypocrites on top of being an overrated coach. It’s a joke that he gets to represent team USA over someone like Spo.

Tatum was electric, but Jrue quietly had a dominant game. He blew up so many Knicks’ possessions and got to so many loose balls.

I expected plenty of Tatum-to-Porzingis assists this year, but the Jaylen-Porzingis two-man game has been a pleasant surprise.

good to see heart at the end, would’ve liked to see the intensity much earlier The issue is that they stop trusting their system and teammates as soon as the opponent starts to muck things up. Once they have a big deficit and start playing like they have nothing to lose, they find their rhythm again - but often times, it’s just a little too late. It was a similar story against Minnesota, but that team was too incompetent offensively to build a bigger lead on them. But ultimately, these same bad habits continue to persist, and it will hold them back if they can’t find a way to overcome it.

I don't think Brown is stupid - but does he lack self awareness? He seems to think he has skills that he simply doesn't have. Maybe he is just impossibly stubborn. He is incredibly frustrating, though. This is pretty accurate - he’s not the smartest basketball player, and he’s shown zero awareness or willingness to learn from his mistakes. He’s single-handedly the reason they’re behind right now.

This team has shown very little interest in playing defense all season. They should change that.

This just felt like one of those games that happens during a long season.
The only concern here is how they reverted back to garbage iso ball late in the 4th and into OT. They’ve got to find a way to break those habits and force good defenses to have to scramble defending their action. Not a big deal for a game, but just something to flag for later.
Congrats to the Wolves for beating Denver and Boston. I’m sure some of the clowns on their team will want to raise a banner for that.

One important subplot from this game - Kornet showed out in a game where the team needed him. Hauser and Brissett have been stringing together nice stretches as well the past few games.
If Kornet can find some consistency and Pritchard can get his act together, the Celts’ all of a sudden have a competent bench.

I love how loose Kristaps was all night. That’s huge for a team that tends to get so tight. Jrue’s last defensive rep against Quickly was insane. Such a good contest in a moment when you cannot foul. Jrue’s box score won’t stick out but he had some big plays down the stretch. His usual great defense too He was a monster defensively. He’s probably even better than Marcus on that end at this stage of their careers. And, of course, he came up with a loose ball at the end to give the Celts another possession. Not a pretty night, but this team should be lots of fun.

Does the NBA care about fixing any of its officiating or replay issues?

I wish horrible things on this entire officiating crew.
Not even trying to hide the corruption.

I can see the sense in getting Kyle Lowry, I just don't want to watch his antics. Guy drives me nuts, yet he'd likely be a good veteran leader. I used to respect him, but he’s turned into one of the dirtiest players in the league. Pass.

Westbrook may not have an option to sign for anything more than the taxpayer MLE or a vet minimum if he wants to keep playing. This is going to be a super interesting free agency this year with the new rules. WOULD go for Westbrook coming out the bench, he has become somewhat underrated after being put through the meat grinder that is the constant Lebron Drama Squad. He's a flawed player in kind of funny ways, but he's incredibly useful if put in the right situation. I don’t disagree with you regarding Westbrook being underrated, but I’m not sure Boston’s a good fit for him. Their offense already has a tendency to get stuck and mud and turn the ball over. Westbrook would exacerbate that and take shots away from better players. I think there’s a good landing spot for him on a playoff team, just not Boston.

His defensive upside is massive, but he’s not going to be the team’s best defender from day one. Tatum, Derrick White, Rob, and even Horford are top-tier defenders. Oh is this how we argue our points? Let me try: “No, Jordan Walsh is a top tier defender.” How’d I do? Chill out, man.

Do you think a switch everything D, is just a D that has guys switch a few times? I’m not sure. You’d have to consult the NBA coach who employs the “switch everything” scheme. Or you could actually watch Jordan Walsh’s tape and see he’s the most vocal and aware defender on the court. His defensive upside is massive, but he’s not going to be the team’s best defender from day one. Tatum, Derrick White, Rob, and even Horford are top-tier defenders.

They are going to trade some of those 2nds per reports, which is fine if they make the right moves. As in not trading two 2nds for Mike Muscala. I'd have no problem trading the Dallas or Hawks pick, I wouldn't trade the 2025 or 2026 picks, yeah those look like they have a great chance of being high picks and I assume those came from Detroit? We'll see what happens and if if makes sense. Lots of Celtics are going all in, expect a ton more moves crap flying around. Still if Stevens simply took Colby Jones and Walsh with those two 2nds I would have given him an A+. I'm not going to say that's just like Bane, because it's not. Yet it's close and the Kings are making that move, wow they changed literally overnight. Yet Jones is a guy that can come in and help this year. He's got an offensive and defensive game that's developed now. Giving you a SG/SF that can guard PG to SF, which after trading Smart is a need no? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Walsh feels like a pick to answer what do you do with Giannis if Grant leaves question. Get you DVR ready, I want to see that. You needed a guy like him, as the Ringer says got that dog in him. Yet has a ways to go on offense, shot looks okay, FT percentage is good. I agree with this 100%. I loved them having the 34th and 39th picks to be able to take a couple fliers on players. With the new CBA on the way, it will be important even more important to continue drafting and developing depth on an ongoing basis. Stevens deserves the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise, but Jones and Walsh would’ve been awesome.
