It's a joke that we have to continue watching losers like Holt and Snyder hack away. Inexcusable when you consider there's a much better option right down the highway. But they can't lose Snyder. He's too valuable and Holt plays like a veteran. Holt's a useful player, if not an ideal starter. Snyder... I have no idea what he's doing on the team.

Napoli has contributed so little since the first month of the season. This year: Adrian Gonzalez: .297/.348/.463 Mike Napoli: .256/.344/.453 This year RISP Adrian Gonzalez 100ABs .323/.395/.512 15K Mike Napoli 128ABs .219/.322/.414. 46K I'm guessing not all of that is BBIP luck. Esp the 46Ks.

This is one time where I absolutely love Lackey not holding back. I hope he calls out the organization for having Snyder on this team.

This might seem a little out of the blue but damn, you guys are making this board unreadable..... Stop your constant whining. Besides this being a first place in baseball team, therefore nothing to really whine about, the lot of you are just coming off as whiny babies that think you know a lot more about baseball that you really do. Read through tonight's thread... It's getting embarrasing

Read through tonight's thread... It's getting embarrasing Who are you reading this witn that you're embarrassed? Because the two Meghan Fox stunt doubles I'm with right now are fine with it all, though I have to say, they're not easily embarrassed. Then again, only one of them says she can read so she's just watching the game and doing play by play with the volume down.

Notwithstanding he cost us a game in LA, but we have a top 3 prospect in baseball just SITTING at AAA.

I have no problem with bringing up complaints....I completely agree with some of them, but deciding that you're going to call Napoli a useless pile of crap every time he doesn't get a homerun or calling Holt a loser each time he's in the lineup is getting old. This place is better than that. I will admit that it's only few that are doing this, but it's getting really really old. EDIT: And if you want to spend your night saying how much Napoli or Holt or anyone sucks then start a damn thread. Stop polluting the daily threads with garbage.

Is Napoli a great player? No. He's a somewhat average player on an very reasonable contract. He's the guy you have instead of a Mitch Moreland, Lyle Overbay, Adam LaRoche suckfest type who actively makes your team worse. This is a depth team. The star power isn't overwhelming -- it's not the Tigers where Verlander and Cabrera are going to drag a team of scrubs to the playoffs -- but with the exception of the third base fiasco, there's very few below average players on the roster, and it's bargain-bin signings like Napoli and Drew that are responsible for that. Maybe they're frustrating to watch at times, but in the aggregate they are contributors, and that's a big part of this team's dramatic turnaround this year.

Sorry, I can celebrate lesser players playing thier best to be average, and star players playing their best, even through slumps. But I can't celebrate sustained mediocrity, which, aside from April and an extreme outlier night here and there, IS Mike Napoli.

Now, I will admit, actually watching Napoli's ABs, I can't quite figure out how he EVER makes contact with a baseball.

And that AB should've been Carp. Yeah well now I agree with you. Napoli is exposed against righty velocity. But it's not his fault that his manager absolutely refuses to recognize this or do anything about it.

I honestly do not think he is coming up soon to play third. Xander has been playing a lot of short stop in the minors. We also have WMB. Who has not really done enough in Pawtucket to justify being recalled. Feel free to criticize the Red Sox for not bringing up Bogaerts, but if it was going to happen soon, he would probably be playing third. Middlebrooks can easily move to DH for a week, if necessary.

![](http://forzainterforums.com/images/smilies/trollol.png) NAPOLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Bring up Middlebrooks if they don't want to "mess" with Bogaerts because he hasn't played much 3B. Its not ideal cause I'll probably be saying the same thing about him when he Ks but maybe they catch him on a hot streak and ride it out. In an ideal world I think they should bring up Bogaerts...Better approach at the plate that I think he wouldn't be eaten alive and he's a good enough athlete to make plays at 3B.
