You sure do get butthurt with a quickness. Take a deep breath bud. Talk to me after this roadtrip. I love to be wrong about this. Be wrong about what? Losing the series to the Astros? I mean, it looks like you're probably right about that....but thats not the point. The point is that some people, and not even necessarily you, need to ease up a little bit on playing fantasy gm. Some people seemingly want to decapitate Cherington and/or Farrell despite the fact they they took a disgrace of a team last year and turned them into one of MLB's best. It's baseball, we will win some series that we thought looked tough to win, and we will lose some that we should have won. Roll with the punches and enjoy the ride.

READ UPTHREAD. HE has been pitching extremely well both in MLB and in AAA... Oh and workman is pitching like shit to right now, but thats ok becuase its not wright? The guy had like 5 minutes to warm up for a start. Sure, he might have sucked anyway, but it's not like he and Wright had the same situations to work with. While it was not the same situation, Workman had lots of time to warm up. Now I do not know Workman's specific routine, but I do know he started warming up while Wright was still pitching, continued warming up during the break between the bottom of the first and the top, then had the top of the inning to continue warming up. Obviously not the same routine as a starter, but much more than a typical relief pitcher has.

What makes you think I'm not enjoying the ride? Yeah, I don't know how he could have gotten that impression.

Reading gameday threads on days like this is like driving by an accident. You know you shouldn't look but you do anyway. I wish the ages of posters were available. I'm an old fart with 3 sons ages 25 to 36. I'm almost positive the majority of posters are my sons age. Get off my lawn or send over the Megan Fox look-alikes.

These games should be a cakewalk. These might come back to bit them in the ass.
By the way I am so disgusted right now that saying nothing is better just going off.

This game is all sorts of over.
Looks like the Sox are about to get swept by the Astros.

The screwy thing is that the Astros probably want to lose this game. The White Sox are nipping at their heels for the first overall draft pick, and this is the Carlos Rodon draft.
EDIT: If I was a suspicious person, I would suggest that the front office ordered the double steal and the sacrifice, knowing that both decrease the Astros odds of winning.

They said in the podcast that they might have to promote Xander in a situation like this in a losing streak to get that shot in the arm. Probably won't happen.

In a tight division race this games make a difference.

In a tight division race this games make a difference. But Wright and his mediocre season in AAA totally earned this start with the three good innings he threw in MLB relief. Shit, Uehara's been good out of the pen all year. Just start him.

Shit, Uehara's been good out of the pen all year. Just start him. And his last few AAA starts, but forget about that.... And i suppose workman would shut down the astro's? oh wait, he is pitching porly right now. So I guess we should have started workman instead today becuase we knew he would pitch amazing against the Astro's.. JF wouldn't win either way given they both are pitching like shit today

Workman is a better pitcher. It's really not complicated.

I still can't quite figure out how I made it through this much of this thread to even get to your post. And for the record, I'm 35, so you either need to narrow your age window, or I'm an outlier.

Again I'd take that from Workman in the shin. He is a supirior, much better pitcher.

Well, come on bats. If we can slow down the mighty and fearful Astros offense, we may have a shot.

JF wouldn't win either way given they both are pitching like shit today Here's the difference: Workman's last few starts have also been very good ... and those were at the major league level! There was reason to believe he could have pitched well tonight, even if he ended up having a lousy start. With Wright, there was little-to-no reason to expect him to pitch well at the major league level. Starting him was a mystifying decision by the Red Sox, and it backfired. Badly.
