I guess joe castiglione did not talk to Nava Xander before the game because the first pitch he saw was down the middle.

Take a shot every time Eck says "cheese". If I never post here again, you'll know why.

Did anyone know that Vogelsong didn't make it due to his cheese, or that Peavy no longer has the cheese anymore? By the 10th time in an inning I would hope the point would be made

Man Victorino might need to look into going RH all the time.

The Xander Bogaerts show has 5 LOB through two PAs.

Nice rangy play from Nava to catch a foul pop. He's mostly a butcher in the field, but has moments of occasional brilliance.

It's like watching Dice-K all over again...10pm start time and Vogelsong, not a recipe for being awake for a full nine.

Something that won't show up in the box score: on the Belt triple, Bogaerts had to dive wildly to his left as the relay man to grab Victorino's throw. It was a pretty athletic move to snare the ball, but it seemed like Xander was out of position to begin with on the relay (might have also been Victorino making a bad throw, though).

Nice comeback there by Peavy.

Also, I love watching Peavy pitch. He gets ahead in the count and then uses his offspeed stuff. Manages to strand Belt at third despite him tripling to lead off the inning.

How can you forget Gator? Oh, and that fella we signed from Cleveland with the long hair? What was his name again??

Manny was an adventure but sometimes the guy made excellent plays, like cutting off your CF.

I don't like pulling the IF in with the pitcher up in the 5th, but I can understand why you would. Fortunately Petey saves it yet again

Oh hey Xander. THAT is how you take away some of the bite of leaving 5 men on through the first half of the game. Nice play to keep the lead

Great play by Bogaerts there. Charged hard on a chopper and threw a missile to first to nab Scutaro by a split-second.

Might be a good idea to have someone in the 'pen working just in case Farrell.

Should be a tie game RS need to get to Vogelsang before their good fortune runs out. Bogaerts handles his first chance but having a tough night at the plate.

Good point. Like Jason Bay and before Bay? Jim Rice was in LF. How can you forget Gator? Oh, and that fella we signed from Cleveland with the long hair? What was his name again?? Always thought Gator was pretty decent LF, especially at Fenway. He read the wall as well as anyone since Yaz did. Ramirez? He was a butcher. His "nice plays" IMO were mostly balls he could have caught had he read them correctly in the 1st place and ran to them instead of having to dive after them. His time as a LF with Ortiz as a DH was a weakness in LF, nearly as bad as when Baylor was DH that forced Billy Buck to play 1b and neither should have had a glove. My 2c of course..
