I understand that, my point is that performance/stats are only one part of the equation. We know now Cabrera's raw talent/ability is Hall of Fame caliber. We don't know that about Xander. To expect or even think it's likely that he even comes close to what Cabrera did in the majors at 20 simply because of unadjusted minor league stats is not realistic or fair , imo. My intention isn't to project Bogaerts future with Cabreras career but just to state Xanders progression has been more in line with Cabrera than Trout. Both advanced through the minors on a similar timeline. Xander's tools are also more inline with Cabrera as a prospect vs. Trout who's game has a much larger speed component. Not that Trout is an unrealistic comparison. I don't think its unrealistic either to expect a .265/.325/.468 type of line if he gets semi regular at bats with maybe 3 or 4 HRs. Don't read too much into the comparison outside of the initial year. I know you were only talking about this year, not his career, you're not following my point for some reason so I guess it's my fault. However I must have misread your initial post because I thought Cabrera's slash line was a lot better than that. I agree that that is realistic, but still not likely.

Just grabbed tickets for 8/27 in hopes of seeing Xander's home debut.

Just me bitching but if you bring a guy up and play him once in the series why the hell don't you do it against the left hand pitcher? Maybe Drew has great numbers against Zito so that is the reason if not it makes no sense.

Yesterday's lineup was made before they knew Zito was pitching today and apparently didn't want to sit Drew back to back days.

Yeah, but they could have changed the lineup and sat Xander an extra day. I think they knew Zito was going to pitch a before the game. It made no sense to get him his first start in a game where Ortiz was sitting against a RHP also.

They had apparently already told Xander that he was starting, and did not want to make him wait another day. If it wasn't his debut, they might have changed the lineup.

OK just bitching again why even bother bringing him up. I would rather him be getting at bats in triple A than riding the pines. This makes no friggin sense to me!
