That was horrible by Peavy.
Nibbling against Jeter? Ridiculous. You know you have Cano next. Attack him.

The most disappointing thing about that last half inning is that only one ball (Cano's double) was hit hard at all. A frisbee through the infield, a bunt hit, and a walk. And yet Napoli couldn't generate any of those with bases loaded at a meaningful moment in tge game. Again.

Man, when Middlebrooks connects, it goes a long way. That one got out of there very, very quickly and went very, very far.

Not his fault Farrell isn't using him correctly I guess.

Are you serious? Alex Rodriguez and Lyle Overbay just pulled off a double steal? Shame on Peavy and Lavarnway.

They're running all over Lava. Not a good sign.

All four runners with an unoccupied base in front of them have stolen.

He has a ton of power, if his approach/pitch recognition is passable... Hopefully he will learn with experience now that he knows he could be sent back down. If he does well, Sox can really do some damage going forward as offense from 3B was awful this year.

Shane Victorino should never hit left-handed ever again.

Victorino really has been great. Their best player since the ASB.

They're running all over Lava. Not a good sign. That double steal was on Peavy. First steal by Ichrio was on Lava. Second by Gardiner was one with Ichiro on 3rd, so he was never throwing through. Last two were on Peavy not paying attention. Not a big deal.

Oof, brutal to watch that Pedroia single go between A-Rod and Jeter. No range at all on the left side of the infield.

Don't want to start off a feeding frenzy, just curious, why didn't Carp get the start tonight?
One would think that with that short RF and RHP on the mound, it would make sense to get him in there tonight.

I'm not saying that getting Rodriguez and Jeter back wasn't net beneficial, considering how bad their replacements were (consider Eduardo Nunez's -1.4 fWAR). But both of those guys give back a lot of runs on defense.

People got upset when I talk about it too much but it does really bother me. Carp has done nothing but produce all season.

They should have pinch-hit for Drew, but I understand deferring to the veteran. They should pinch-hit for Lavarnway, but because Saltalamacchia's injured and they want to give Ross a day off, I don't think they're going to.

Gawd, using a LOOGY in the fifth inning ... these Yankees-Sox games still have all the tediousness they always have, but with little of the drama now that the Yankees are mediocre.
