Taking three out of four here would be nice, especially because the Yankees are playing catch up in the wild card.

All I want for Christmas is for the Yanks to finish fourth in the division. Is that too much to ask?

All I want is for the AL East wildcard contenders to beat each other up (and get beaten up by the Sox) so that Tito's Indians sneak past all of them. Don't care in what order they all finish as long as the Rays, Yankees, and Orioles watch the postseason from home.
Then, getting greedy, would be great to have the Indians win the one-game playoff and go to Boston for the first series.

What we really need is a split; what we'd like is 3. Actually, that's true for every series from here on out -- first, don't get swept.

Lackey just wants a little run support. 20 runs not necessary. But greater than zero.

No more dempy from here on out and our bats are hot. This is the most important stretch of the season here.

This is the most important week for the Sox since the most important week they had last week, since the most important week they had the week before last week Had to get that one out. Hopefully they dont have a let down today after the fireworks yesterday. 2-2 is a good result and 3-1 is excellent.

Most important game for the Sox today IS in New York ... but it's Rochester, NY. If Buchholz tightens up his game and flashes some of his old form, the Sox go from very strong favorites to win the division to prohibitive favorites to win it and improve their playoff odds quite a bit.

Should be a great series. Happy with a split. I think the Yanks will make a pay back for Aroid getting drilled sometime during the series. Hope the sox take it and let it die , along with the Yanks chance of playing in the post season.

Should we start a poll on who will get that pay back HBP? (We can take out Victorino as he has been a magnet for HBP's these days)

Term for this key road trip upcoming should be "Be not greedy" 3-4 will do and 4-3 would be outstanding.

I hate these guys.
Win 2, steal 1, and hope one more falls in our lap.
HATED the way the last series played out - should've won 2 of 3. We can bury these dirtbags this weekend, and hope Seattle does the same to Clearwater.

Nap got frozen by the deuce. Ah well, the Sox got 2 and Nova's over 80 through 3. I wanna see the Sox continue to grind out ABs to burn that pen up in game 1 of a 4 game weekend series.

Eh, not really a hanging curveball. It had some pretty nasty movement and dropped in back door.

Would've loved to see Carp there. Considering the pinch-hitter penalty, if you're thinking of pinch-hitting for a guy in the third inning, you might as well not have started him. Which, I guess, is what you're getting at.

We just went from the possibility of a 5-0 or mor game and knocking the pitcher put in the 3rd to blowing the lead. Incredible.

The most disappointing thing about that last half inning is that only one ball (Cano's double) was hit hard at all. A frisbee through the infield, a bunt hit, and a walk.
