Putting in Joba Chamberlain in a 10th inning tie is way dumber than going to Matt Thornton with what looked like a commanding lead. Girardi burning through his good relievers too fast is the New York version of Farrell trying to get too many innings out of his burnt starter.
Girardi just brought in Logan to intentionally walk Ortiz, and then Rothschild has to visit the mound? Before he even actually pitches to a batter? For all the guff we give Farrell, imagine if we had to deal with Girardi managing this team?

Snyder for Nava? What am I missing?

I don't think either of them are 41. Ibanez is though. So all of Bond's seasons prior to age 41 could have been legit. Got it. He was last decade. But as I recall, he never failed a test either. Seriously, every serious athlete I've ever met will do all he or she can get away with to improve. Hell, if I know how to beat the test and could hit the slider I'd be out there making millions too. And hitting even more hot babes and cool waves.

Man these MLB network commentators are harping on the missed check swing leading to one Sox run but not talking about the missed tag at 3B leading to bunch of MFY runs.

Farrell preferred Snyder to Bogaerts? Why is that?

I'm not there yet, I've built up a pretty healthy loathing of the Rays these last few years.

I think the tactical move was to set it up for Robertson and then the guy they have closing, which he did, there usually isnt a need for a plan B after that.

Which is pretty much exactly what Ortiz has been doing the last few years AND he's got a history of use. If I didn't know better, I'd say that most of these guys are using something or other, and we mainly hold it against the ones we don't like in the first place.

Snyder for Nava? What am I missing? I am speechless, what the hell? Because it's a LHP? Not sure why this is so puzzling. Snyder is .321/.321/.643 against LHP in the majors this year, .326/.347/.526 for his career. He destroys left-handed pitching. That's why he's around. Putting him in to play 1B is probably a good move for the bottom of the inning now that you have a lead anyway.

Although that's surely one of many, many reasons why I'm not a manager or in a front office.
