That double play might have saved the game. Geez, how many years of PFP and he still hasn't learned to set his feet. Scares me every time he has to throw to a base. Whew. Agreed. Thankfully, Drew did a great job of saving an awful throw from Lester, and Pena might be even slower than Cabrera.

Dang..was watching the B's cough up a 2-0 lead, did I not switch back in time to see a weak groundout by Victorino?

Xander Bogaerts is the youngest player to start a playoff game in Red Sox history.
The previous youngest? Babe Ruth.

Lol? Terrible one-pitch groundout for Gomes, and then Buck has to rush in a comment before the commercial about Farrell saying how the Sox are a better team with him in the lineup.
Edit: Completely squeezed there.

The tigers aren't gonna let their guard down, and neither can the sox. Although they have a 3 run lead, baseball is never over until the last out is made.

Time to bench Drew. 1-16 with like 9 Ks this series.

Time to bench Drew. 1-16 with like 9 Ks this series. The problem is in favor of who? Put WMB back in?, he is equally as lost. He has to stay in for defense at this point with X at 3B.

At this point, might as well just alternate starts between Drew and Middlebrooks, letting Bogaerts start full-time.
NEED to have a quick hook tonight on Lester, John. No "sticking with your guys" in a game like this.

Lester needs to get out ASAP. Tigers hitters have adjusted to the tiny strike zone by not swinging, and he's tiring. Didn't have his best stuff tonight (only 2 Ks) and BABIP luck only lasts so long.

Either Drew or Middlebrooks should be considered the pitchers spot at this point. Thier ineptitude at the plate is a wash at this point. So lineup wise They would be stronger with Drew at SS and an automatic out than Bogaerts at SS with the auto out at 3B in Middlebrooks
Edit-Lester needs to get thru the 6th

If Drew was on the bench, they don't turn that DP in the fourth. Even when his bat isn't there he's a positive contributor.

How many garbage hits for Detroit tonight? Eh, Red Sox have had their fair share as well. But also a lot more hard-hit balls.

In the end only 5 1/3 from Lester, I knew the strike zone would shorten his night. Sanchez gave them 6, let's hope this doesnt end up being the story.

criminal call on that strike especially with how tight the zone has been, that being said Ortiz has to overcome that and looks stupid barking at the ump heading back to the dugout.
