I'd say the Red Sox are kind of screwed. The offense has ceased to function and they can't get Detroit out. Just think. They were up 3-0 with Sanchez on the ropes and Porcello ready to come in. They never got the killer hit and they let Detroit back into the game.

That DP was worth it, but we'll need Breslow to be perfect and Uehara for more than an inning. Bleh.

That was badly needed. Gladly give up the run for 2 precious outs. Now the margin of error is minimal. The Sox need to score more runs in the 8th and 9th innings!!!

Preemptive strike...Before the screaming starts against Farrell the Pen, this is on Lester. Spotted 4 he HAS to go more than 5 1/3, if he is the Ace, the staff Horse, no excuses

Meanwhile, didn't Tazawa have some sort or bad splits when pitching a 2nd inning and that's why Farrell stopped using him that way?

Thank god that Fielder, the alleged second best hitter in the Tigers' lineup, has been pretty impotent so far.

Odds on a pinch hitter for Drew if he comes up with a man in scoring position? Anyone?

I did see, and called this earlier in the game. Lester had to adjust and just challenge more hitters especially up by 4. Sanchez had the same zone and went 6. With only a three man pen at the end making it into the the 7th was key, those two outs change the whole dynamic

Pinch hitting for Drew with a lead would be self defeating.
Nava should be in here against Veras, though.

Veras has gotten a few very generous strikes. Hopefully the Red Sox relievers are just as lucky.

I will say it appears the Sox have a completely different strike zone than the Tigers.

It's pretty cool that Iglesias offered to play both SS and LF for Peralta.

I will say it appears the Sox have a completely different strike zone than the Tigers. The zone has "floated" to say the very least, would be a much bigger story if Fox actually used the K-zone or whatever its called. The strike call on Ortiz they did show but the two airbags totally glossed over in order to talk about some nonsense

Umm, Buck and McCarver can't check the career splits/stats? They just claimed V-Mart is far more potent against righties than lefties, based solely on batting average this season.

5 out save, the extra two outs I was afraid of.

I wouldn't have thought I'd think this, but I disagree with Farrell bringing in Uehara for five outs. It's like Breslow is being wasted. He got V-Mart out. I'd be willing to keep him in the game until somebody reaches, then bring in Koji. Maybe he could have limited Koji to 3 outs. If Koji gives up a run there's now nobody I'd want to bring into a tie game.

It just feels like Farrell is hitting the panic button when Breslow has given him no reason to panic.
