That is why Farrell used Morales early.... Now you have Breslow and Koji as aces in the hole. You had to get through that inning with somone.... THis TEam I'm maybe the last guy to complain about Farrell around here, but that was still a bad call ... I'd much rather Morales come into a 3-run lead with the bases empty than a one-run lead and runners on. But, ya know, everyone makes mistakes ... This has been by far the most fun Red Sox season I've ever experienced.

The sox had a 3 run lead and were 5 outs away in 2003. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.
we need to "cowboy up" and "believe". Year of the beard. Go sox!

Jose Veras career, allowed on 0-2: .124 / .137 / .178. After 0-2, .146 / .185 / .201.
Victorino career on 0-2, .183 / .229 / .266. After 0-2, .215 / .253 / .347.

As I've said all along - Shane Victorino at 3 years $39 million is the ultimate bargain of the off-season. I'll admit I was lukewarm on that deal at best but he has been much more that I had hoped. Clutch moment for him there.

Hope Uehara has no after effects of that 30 pitch outing on Thursday.
Edit: Knocked on wood obviously

Another key thing to note: Peralta rakes vs. Lefties.

couple things here if we close this out. I think workmans appearce was solid and shut down a potential big inning. The Xander at bat of course. That dude is such a bleeping stud. My buddies here in dfw are sick and tired of hearing me hype this guy.

Breslow, BTW, since the publication of The Baseball Talmud four years ago, has pretty clearly vaulted from 5th to 1st as the LHR on the all-time Jewish team.

Shut up, Buck, about the pitch counts. Scherzer was lucky not to have given up a 3-run bomb to Pedey and luckier to have not given up a game-tying HR to a guy who he should own, and had owned. He was clearly gassed, and Ellsbury, up next, had walked and roped a liner, and has always hit him well.

Still time for another Verlander interview...at least he was honest and indicated they were already packed before tonight's game

Back to the Series boys. Well done by the GM. Ill admit I had some doubts about this team and the guys we brought in. Love this team. Fun to watch.
