I was at Fenway for Bobby Sprowl's debut game vs NY and for some reason, Ranaudo's debut reminds me of this. I really hope Ranaudo ends up with a much better career than does Sprowl, Sprowl was much hyped as well.

Ranaudo's visibly not a finished product yet. Offspeed pitches are still very inconsistent. Shaky command cost him some strikes from what I saw. To be truthful, I was pretty disappointed with him despite the good results until that last inning. He looked like he didn't have an out pitch until his curveball finally showed up in the sixth. Was a bit of a relief to see that.
Looking forward to his next outing. Hopefully he establishes that curve earlier - he needs it.

The Carp fan club isn't sure about the whereabouts of Mike. He might have gone on revocable waivers today. That is 48 hours, no indication that the weekend stops the clock. He might have gone on Irrevocable Waivers which is 48 hours, only counting business days. Thur is the deadline for that, so that he is cleared/claimed by Monday afternoon the 11th. www.mlbtraderumors.com/"He will need to pass through waivers in order to be moved. Carp is playing on a $1.4MM annual salary in his first year of arbitration eligibility." waiver trade rules bleacherreport.com/articles/2145161-everything-mlb-fans-need-to-know-about-the-mlb-waiver-trade-deadlineI am betting that he clears waivers unclaimed and gets sent to AAA.

At the end of the night ranauldo did a pretty good job for a first start.
I still think we need to send Buchholz to the dl and keep ranauldo in the rotation.

Why not let Mookie try to steal 2nd, then sacrifice him to third ?

Holy crap Mookie, but I will say that JBJ probably would have been under it.

Holy crap Mookie, but I will say that JBJ probably would have been under it. Likely a much smoother play. Regardless, that's a sensational grab for a guy who's experience is very limited in the OF

Holy crap Mookie, but I will say that JBJ probably would have been under it. He would have, but that isn't a fair standard. He went a long way.

I will say that it's awesome that I get to yell "Mookie!" after he makes a play. That is a unique privilege that I appreciate.

as Bradley was coming into the game, why not Pinch Run for Napoli in the 8th ?
Not Farrell's style.

Yes the elderly Japanese warrior is still on this team.
And yes I still want to win --select games anyway-- even if it affects the protected pick.

Congrats to Ranaudo and his family, well deserved win in his Big League debut. His mom was living and dying on every pitch. Dad tried to play it cool. Fun to watch. Congrats on a fine debut.
