Speier - 4IP, 2H, R (UER), 3/0 K/BB
He's now 16IP, 10H, 2ER, 11/1 K/BB for the season coming off TJ. Will be interesting to see him at instrux.

Yes, the same Erik Johnson who dominated the Red Sox on 4/15 has a 6.40 ERA with Charlotte.

US Basabe and Raffy with HRs. 7 RBIs off two HRs in two days. Maybe he wasn't slumping, maybe he was waiting for baserunners.

Rafael Devers homers again and has 4 RBIs. Devers now leads the GCL in RBIs despite not having enough AB to qualify for the batting title. STUD

STUD He's also the only player with more RBI than games played. Interesting timing. He'll get one more PA today and that PA will give him enough PAs to qualify for the GCL leader boards. Depending on what another batter does today, he might debut as the OPS leader (unlikely). He ended up 2/5 with a HR and a K. They won 10-6.

Have mercy, Devers, have mercy. There's a chance Devers wraps up next season in Salem at 18 years old.
Also, what happens if Devers keeps growing? He's only a young 17, after all. Could not be more excited for Papi Jr.

Clearly he doesn't need to grow significantly. I'd rather see him stay at 3B.

Reminder, Michael Almanzar GCL at 17 .348/.414/.886 Devers .340/.400/.963 Yea a 23 game sample size and he didn't show near the power that Devers has.

Well, Devers' is only 28 games. I am excited, but remind that the GCL to AA has many bumps along the road. The reason I thought of this is I was wondering whether I would do a Swihart/Devers for Stanton deal, and even though its easy to fall in love with Devers' potential (not to mention Swihart's), the answer would have to be "of course." Look at Cory Maybin and Andrew Miller, who were far closer to the majors.

LXB just hit his first HR of the year. The kid sounds like an airport. An "exciting" airport!

Having Michael Brenly almost feels like having Michael Brantley right?

Travis with 2 hits tonight! He is in a zone, great to see. also, encouraging outing from Stankiewicz tonight. Given his inconsistencies this season, hopefully he will finish strong!
