Webster folding like a cheap suit. Mental toughness needed! No mental toughness at all, Webster still has nerves. you can see it. Frustrating to watch!

Weaver looks gassed but Webster looks like a scared kid. Guess it's a wash.
Xander hit another ball hard with nothing to show for it. More of that lately , so they should start falling or going out.

Webster folding like a cheap suit. Mental toughness needed! You watching the same game I am? The guy throws some nasty s**t when he can get it over the plate, and tonight he is so far. Add: Napoli sitting all over that "fastball".

Cole Calhoun...isn't he in the WWE?
Doesn't he call everyone neighbor and finish with the big splash?

I really don't know why so many people seem to think Webster's control issues are due to a lack of mental fortitude. To me, it just seems like he's struggling to find his release point, after a strong first two innings even the strikes he's thrown haven't been to the glove. He's just a guy who still has issues with his command, and hopefully he'll improve moving forward.

It's the way he looks.
The last start when he struggled to find the plate, he looked eleven years old.
He belongs in the pen. Tonight his stuff looks much better out of the stretch.
I still see Barnes, Owens , Delarosa, and Johnson as the prospects most likely to stay in the rotation.

And there was a filthy change to Pujols

Looked great that inning besides the hit batter. Definitely locating his off speed stuff better than his fastball tonight. I'm still a big believer in Webster's talent, I'm glad they're giving him the rest of the year to try and figure out how his stuff plays at the MLB level. Hopefully he can figure something out, and if not I definitely think he can be a tremendous reliever if he never shows sufficient command to be an effective starting pitcher.

Ortiz missed two or three cookies in that last AB that he would have hit to DisneyLand in prior years.if he is struggling as bad next year you know he will start complaining to the media how he deserves his 2016 option to be picked up.

JBJ is absolutely ridiculous out there. He can start in CF every day on my teams if he can even hit .230 (I think he'll be in the .270's eventually)

For Webster ya but not really Norm 49/27 I swear some are upset that the guy comes out and pitches well. The only thing cheap is the rhetoric built around pop psychology. Coming to you from the great northwest

Webster has been projected as a mental case by many here. I'd like to see how they would respond to the pressure of throwing a ball into a tiny little area of the plate at 95 mph in front of over a million people on tv and with literally millions of dollars riding on your first 3 starts potentially. The kind of money which can take care of everyone in your extended family with ease. These guys are human beings. It is worth it to give him the rest of this year to prove himself. I bet eventually he will be fine. Buchholz had tremendous stuff coming up also but they were patient with him and overall he has given us decent value.

If JBJ can just hit a little we have something special.
Nice bounce back from Webster. But the question is do you keep him in the future or are you happy he is building his value for the offseason ?
