Good start by RDLR. Better when you see that 101 pitches, and realize that 3 of the baserunners came in the 1st inning, and he was not helped out by 2 errors defensively. Has had a fairly low K rate in his limited time in Boston, so this was nice to see.
One of Will or JBJ will bounce back. I assume JBJ more likely than WMB, but I know it'll just be whichever one the Sox give up on.

If you count both offense and defense, JBJ must easily lead the majors in outs created per inning. Only guy who gets a hug from both pitchers at the end of a game.

YC is 4 for 8 with 2 HR, 2 BB, 1 K vs. Santiago. Could we see his first Sox bomb today? My man. Not against who you expected, but still... Good call.

Came in from watering just in time to watch Cespedes clear the bases. That's a great line from De La Rosa. Best part about the weekend was watching the Punto trade be the gift that keeps on giving.

Red Sox got a lead, and Farrell got grady. I mean greedy.

I thought he was going to be ok a few weeks back. Tough to watch him at the plate again. Congrats to Rubby on a great game when the staff really needed it.

I don't think it's actually that bad, as long as he gave up the HR and not left bases loaded or something. Give a RP a clean field to work with, and let the outgoing pitcher take the hit (like you do with an IBB).
I just thought RDLR was done after 7 strong, 102 pitches. Badenhop, Breslow, Workman, Mujica, Escobar all hadn't worked more than 1.1 yesterday AND hadn't pitched Friday. Take your pick of those 5 or RDLR in the 8th. Not a lot of choices I guess.

I'm still not giving up on JBJ... but I'll go on believing that making camp out of ST last year was the worst thing that could happen to a player who had only a half season at AA, and had done fine, but not great, there.
May have happened anyway, but after pumping up Callahan, Mercedes, and Smith this year, I'll pocket the I told you so when I can.

What is this team thinking moving Xander's position? He is clearly too fragile mentally to handle the move 15 feet over to SS! I blame Stephen Drew for getting traded! I blame the front office and Farrell! (note the sarcasm).

De La Rosa came up very big. That bullpen was completely drained after last evening and 7+ innings is just what they needed. Who cares about the home run? We don't really need an introduction to Mike Trout, do we? Webster and De La Rosa won the games they pitched for 2 out of 3. I'm sure they'll take it.

So we have to be really happy with this series, right? Buchholz, Webster and De La Rosa are all important going forward, and all turned in solid-to-very-good starts for us. Really good sign in each case, especially since this Angels offense is statistically a good one.
The offense generally sucked, but at this point I'm thinking the best thing for them is the offseason. Let Bogaerts and Bradley get their heads right, get Pedroia and Craig healthy, get Betts ready, and hope things turn around next year.

Solid outings from all three starters. I view this as an important step towards 2015 and I am seeing the emergence of a rotation with Buch, Webster and RDLR as a 2-5 starters. RS just needs to go out and get an ace now.

Glory to the 3-run homerun. The Sox have not had very many of those this year.
JBJ with 4 Ks in 4 ABs. Seems to be going backwards.
RDLR is becoming a solid starter.
Also, hasn't Mujica been a lot better in recent weeks?
The Angels cannot be very happy with this series. They are spending a lot of money on players who don't seem to be the players they were before they got the money.

Also, hasn't Mujica been a lot better in recent weeks? He's been excellent for two months now. Since June 6th: 6.53 K/9, 0.44 BB/9, 2.18 ERA, 2.46 FIP, 3.23 xFIP He's been good enough even if you go back farther. Since May 2nd: 6.34 K/9, 1.10 BB/9, 3.31 ERA, 4.08 FIP, 3.48 xFIP
