I was rooting for Oakland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Anaheim, Los Angeles, and Washington. It has not been a good postseason for me... Yeah, same here. I guess I don't hate the Cardinals, but that's about the most I can say.

IN game 1, Mattingly had Kershaw at 66 pitches coming to the plate to bat in the 5th after 5 innings of work. ... And still, Kershaw comes back on short rest. How will it play out in the next 90 minutes? As others have pointed out though, the Dodgers bullpen isn't that great. Howell League Jansen with Baez and Dan Haren in the mix ... looks like a fine postseason bullpen in the hands of the right manager.

Harper did again against our friend Strickland. Into the McCovey cove.

So glad the losers Crawford and Gonzalez lost. I hate the things they said about Boston. Bunch of Bums.

Tigers reportedly pulled back their offer of Robie Ray for Miller, and the Orioles ended up with him for Rodriguez. Do you think they wished they had him in their bullpen? Who between the two would you rather have Rodriguez or Ray? Robbie Ray is awful, I am so glad we got Rodriguez!

Giants and Cardinals in NL championship. You have to respect the Cardinals. They may be the best-run team in baseball. They lost the Series to the Red Sox last year and now they are close to being back in the Series again. But the Sox are not.

Beckett is retiring. 34 years old and has a lot of money to have fun with.

The Calvin Schiraldi award may go to Aaron Barrett this year, but I guess we have to wait for the end of the World Series. Only Rookies are eligible, so Scott Elbert cannot receive votes.
I keep hearing how awful Brandon League has been, but I don't see it.

I'm 4-4 in teams I was rooting for (not predicting) to win their series. To be fair, I was basically picking those teams because I'd rather the other team not win. I would of been on the Oakland band wagon big time if they made it out of the wild card.
I'm probably the only person on this board rooting for both KC and SF in their respective series.

Except for the times when it does, like with San Francisco in '10 and '12, Chicago in '05, Atlanta in '95 and basically the entire late 1960s and early '70's. Maxims like "X wins champsionships" are never true in baseball. It is a sport that requires many inputs and skills, and you can't win if you do only one of those things well. My point is simply, pitching doesn't win championships, balance and luck wins championships.

I'm sure this has been pointed out, but the contrast between these series is amazing: the two NLCS clubs combining for a one season CS appearance drought and a three season WS win drought, while the two ALCS clubs combine for 43 and 56 respectively. I have to root for Duquette and his O's, and I suppose I'll be pulling for the Cardinals because they're well-run and they were actually good enough to have made the post-season without benefit of an unbalanced schedule.

The Cardinals definitely deserve credit for getting through the tough NL Central. They are probably the best team, and I like to see that get rewarded. That said, I'm just a little sick of them. That's probably petty but I'm ok with that.
I don't really have a specific rooting interest in any of the teams, so I'm just hoping for long, competitive, well-played series.
