I'm now wishing I was listening to NESN so that I could learn stuff about Atlanta, I'm sure Don & Jerry are sharing their knowledge. Top of my head, Atlanta announcers mentioned: Nava bought for a buck from Indy ball. Xander, Simmons and someone else were teammates for the Netherlands. Sandoval's hero was Andres Gallaraga Mookie's initials are MLB because of his uncle, TS but his nickname is Mookie because his mother was a fan of Mookie Blalock. ADD: They also knew the scoreboard was one that was in storage from Fenway 10 years ago. (also mentioned no space inside to change scores). Guessing it's Profar

Didi Gregorius and Jonathan Schoop as well.

Announcers are talking about how crazy it would be to trade Mookie for Hamels, they're impressed big time.
ADD: It was Didi they mentioned.
LOL, he just mentioned the morse code that used to be between the panels at Fenway. Jeeez.

Nice running catch by Hanley while I held my breath bracing for the collision with Mookie that barely missed. If this ever happens, Mookie is going to get f-ing destroyed.

Of course, it seems like the Red Sox pitchers are the only ones following that program recently ... It's ok. They also just went a week without any starter allowing an earned run. Oh, I know ... I'm just joking. Couldn't really care less about these results. My only question: how fast was Buchholz throwing? That's about all I care about from the pitching today ...

In spite of the results he looked pretty good, mainly looked like too many mistakes. Thanks ... I'm pretty optimistic about him. The quotes today about what he was trying to do yesterday (focus on his curve and change) make sense; I watched some of the highlights, and his change looked really good on some of his strikeouts. And 91-92 is fine for this stage in spring training for him ... Meanwhile, everyone's writing about Hanley today, and I gotta say ... the whole "I'm back home" vibe he's got going on is perfect. There's no indication that he's any kind of PR genius or anything, so have to assume he's sincere, but it's a perfect message, really hard not to like as a Sox fan.

Yesterday Panda today HanRam thrown out at second on balls hit off the wall. A little more to learning wallball than just defense.
Maureen Mullen ?@maureenamullen Porcello: 4 IP, 3H, 1R, 2BB, 3K, 70 pitches, 47 strikes
Pete Abraham ?@peteabe Breslow at 88 with his fastball in that inning. Does seem like much but it averaged 85 last season.
Once again, Red Sox unable to keep up in Gameday, they are at least an inning behind. I'm surprised MLB doesn't appear to care. Not sure who the media director is but whoever it is isn't very good at what he/she does.
Somehow, it's 2-1 Twins in the 8th, I think.
Director of Media Relations Kevin Gregg Manager of Media Relations & Baseball Information Jon Shestakofsky
Sox apparently up 3-2 in the 9th. Gameday is in the 5th.
Gameday just got caught up. Sox won 3-2 Rodriguez gave up his first run. Spring the hero again GWRBI, key stat.

Porcello 91-93 in the first inning; mostly 89-91 thereafter. Was all fastballs in the first inning and then mixed in a cutter (identified on the board) and curve. Cutter was at 85 and curve at 79. Hanley's wall ball was a bullet about 1/4 up in left center field close to the 379 mark so I was surprised to see him out on a close play at second. Mookie's double was a hard liner down the right field line....nice opposite field hitting. Sitting in the CF bleachers was not fun with game time temp announced at 90 and at a represented 100% humidity (hard to believe as it was not raining..but the combination made it one level above hell). There are many stations with sunscreen dispensers....now if they could just get a few fans with a spray mist in center.
We already know that Panda swings at just about everything so I could see a big double play total for the season. With runners on why throw anything above the knees?
Spent some time in one of many "hospitality tents" for needed respite and got trapped by the sausage, pepper and onion thing again....lethal.

The sunscreen station is indeed super clutch, even if you sometimes look like a doofus if you're there gooping up as the players walk by. There's shade in the MLB park, but on the back fields, there's not many places to hide at certain times of day, as during the games, you can't really just chill with the players behind home plate like you're one of the gang.

Yeah I can imagine how tough that was. We're lucky up here, today it was in the 20's and windy so fortunately we could stay out in the sun all day and didn't need to bother with sunblock Just kidding of course, I'm pretty pumped you guys are down there sending all these reports back. Keep up the great work!
