Yay, another game untelevised. Just looked up the schedule. TV coverage for the following games:
Boston Red Sox vs Pittsburgh Pirates Saturday 3/21 Philadelphia Phillies vs Boston Red Sox Sunday 3/22 Boston Red Sox vs Atlanta Braves Friday 3/27 Boston Red Sox vs Tampa Bay Rays Saturday 3/28 Tampa Bay Rays vs Boston Red Sox Sunday 3/29 Minnesota Twins vs Boston Red Sox Monday 3/30 Boston Red Sox vs Tampa Bay Rays (ss) Tuesday 3/31 Toronto Blue Jays vs Boston Red Sox (ss) Wednesday 4/1 Boston Red Sox vs Minnesota Twins Thursday 4/2 Minnesota Twins vs Boston Red Sox Friday 4/3 Boston Red Sox vs Minnesota Twins Saturday 4/4
So there is very little on tv until next Friday and then pretty much every game is on.

I think it will be on Toronto Audio. TOR: SN590 Here's what you would have seen with NESN:

How does nesn not televise more games?

How does nesn not televise more games? I'd have to guess they lose money on games they televise in spring training. Or that they don't make enough.

Hazen and Cherington are at the game.
They got to see Bautista go deep deep against Henry.

Owens is still showing extremely low hits with only 4 allowed in 9 innings this spring. Yeah, extremely SSS.

Sanchez pitched very well. SSS but unlike last year, he was throwing strikes. Owens gave up 2 HRs and as last year a disproportionate amount come with runners on. The sixth run scored on a hit off of Bradley's glove followed by the batter being thrown out at third.

Tim Britton ?@timbritton 2m2 minutes ago Masterson 88-89 in the second inning with his fastball. That's about where he was last time out in Clearwater.
With the exception of Lavarnway, every Oriole is either a switch hitter or bats left.

Working his way into the game, it appears.

It has been my opinion formed from following many, many spring trainings that almost no statistical performances mean anything. Players who are hot in ST often are cold once the season starts, and vice versa.
Some players don't take ST very seriously. Some use it for experimentation, or to work on one weakness. The quality of the opposition pitching can be enormously variable. In fact, there are a great many variables.
Once in a while a player surprises and makes the team, but those occasions are rare, and as we recently saw, they don't always work out.

Castillo in the game, late Mookie replacement.
Sox down 3-1. Mookie scored the run.

Good for Castillo. Hopefully we get a visual because it was supposedly a bomb out to left center. "Easy power" according to a fangraphs writer.
Glad Barnes and Rodriguez have looked good this spring, because Masterson isn't looking very promising (although you have to take it with a grain of salt).

He seems very much to spend the early innings getting his delivery down, and he ramps up as the outing goes along. I don't think we know much ... but he still worries me.

Funny, I hadn't realized how heavily right-handed most of the division is. The Yankees swing heavily lefty (they can field a starting lineup consisting entirely of switch and left-handed hitters), but the Jays and O's, for example, are pretty right-handed. I guess that must've been something the Sox looked at with Masterson (and, perhaps, why they worked the rotation to pitch him against the Nationals instead of against the Yankees).

The nice thing about Masterson is that if he busts this year as a starter, it's likely he's still a valuable righty-on-righty reliever due to his mechanics and experience. And if he's good - they get a draft pick at the end of the year. Trying to look at the glass half full.
