I wouldn't be all that surprised if Xander Bogaerts was the Red Sox best player over the rest of the season. It's obvious he put work in on the outside breaking pitches, that he's wearing out and infield rut out to right. They have to come in to him, where he can do some damage. What I really like about this kid is how even-keeled he is. And again, he really looks like a shorstop out there.

It's a dynamic question. Age/experience a factor in his 2nd start. Just coming off a tough inning in a game he was dominating, but it's also a double header.

If I understand the last 9 weeks of gameday threads correctly, Red Sox hitters have bat control when hits fall in, bad BABIP luck when they don't. If Joe Kelly had Phil Hughes's start, we'd have 15 pages of arguments about whether it was good.

I'd bring him back out. Twins' 5-6-7 shouldn't scare anybody, and this is still only the third run through the lineup. If you can get three more outs here, it sets your bullpen up pretty nicely.

Tim Britton @timbritton 15 sec With nobody tossing in the pen even with two outs, sure seems like Rodriguez will start the seventh.

93 pitches is he coming back out? No way. He's on an innings limit and that was a really tough inning. Yeah, with the Sox focus on high-stress innings/pitches, I'm pretty sure he's done. Another great outing for ERod.

You knew Farrell would do the wrong thing and send him back, moron.

I mean, if we're going to play that game, Mike Napoli has a 210 wRC+ in his last 12 games. We can't play that game with Sandoval or Ramirez. Or Papi, unless you go with just today. Right, because it's a dumb game.

That one inning isn't going to do him in guys. He's pitching on five days rest as well.

Man, there's some kind of bug thang going on at Fenway. My screen looks like it has dandruff.
Add: Actually it looks like cottonwood duff. Do you all have cottonwoods back there?

OK, now let's not tank the next game, Farrell. Everybody plays except Leon. These are men. Act like it.
