Is there a reason why we don't have a signings thread this year? Too hard to police or something? We've got many credible seeming posts in this thread about signings, I'd love to see a front page with a list compiled with highlighted signs, etc. Fully agree....any chance we could add this like years past?

None of the signings are official yet. On my end, I will be updating the Draft History page as soon as the signings are official. It will include a running tally on the bonus pool. If somebody else wants to open a draft signings thread, you are all more than welcome to - you don't need to be a staff member! Thanks for the input everybody, Mike

11:30 Comment From You What can you tell us about Logan Allen the lefty the Red Sox got in the 8th round and are paying 2nd/3rd round money. 11:31 Kiley McDaniel: 100th on my board, more info here: www.fangraphs.com/scoutboard.aspx?type=1&pos=lhsSolid average stuff and command, near his ceiling but should move fast. Brian Johnson type at best, likely a notch below that.

Lower than what Al? He's certainly not going to be assigned to the GCL. I don't think people are really expecting an initial assignment to Greenville. I meant to say he will be signed assigned lower than Greenville.

Where is that Lowell roster? The one on their website is out of date and incomplete.

Interesting comparison just because...
Player A at age 20 as a sophomore in the West Coast Conference (WCC) .366/.483/.671, .305 ISO, 15.2 AB/HR, 9 SB to 3 CS
Player B at age 20 as a sophomore in the SEC .380/.489/.715, .335 ISO, 11.6 AB/HR, 23 SB to 4 CS
Of course Player A had better success as a freshman and went on to do otherworldly things as a junior, but still impressive company. Though they are different players, it's fun to compare Kris Bryant (A) to Andrew Benintendi (B).

www.minorleagueball.com/2015/6/15/8768873/ten-value-picks-from-the-2015-mlb-draftTen value picks from the 2015 MLB Draft By John Sickels on Jun 15, 2015, Here are ten "value pick" sleeper prospects selected in the 2015 MLB Draft. These prospects were all drafted no earlier than the 10th round but (perhaps) have a better chance to contribute in the majors than is typical for late picks. This list is NOT about players who dropped for signability reasons; it is not a list of late-round "maybe he'll sign for an over-slot bonus" pick. As a result, there's only one high schooler here and most of the others are college seniors. … Mitchell Gunsolus, 3B, Boston Red Sox: Drafted in the 10th round out of Gonzaga University, Gunsolus hit .353/.449/.556 this spring with solid plate discipline and the look of a professional hitter and potential on-base machine. His defense needs work and the physical upside as a senior is limited, but he's got a chance to be a Matt Carpenter type surprise..

Different hand positioning to start but definitely a spot-on swing comparison with the short, compact swings. Really through the zone quick.

Tim Britton @timbritton 13s14 seconds ago Cherington said they he expected something soon with first-rounder Andrew Benintendi, who would "more than likely" start in Lowell.

Tucker Tubbs should have gotten 10K based on his name alone. Seriously, what an awesome name for a 1B.

Despite not having him ranked as high as others before the draft, Law indicated he'd probably put Benintendi as the #5 prospect in Boston behind Moncada, Devers, Margot and Owens. Also interesting is the inclusion of Guerra an addditional possibility to be in that group.
PS I'm assuming he's "graduated" Rodriguez since he typically doesn't include ANYONE that is currently in the majors regardless of whether or not they've passed the requirements

Using the 45 - day rule, Swihart has graduated as an "official" prospect, though not by the rules here.

Here are my "super wicked early speculative gut-check predictions" for the 2015 signing season. I don't have any inside info behind this yet, these predictions are just based on gut feel and years of history. (Although there have been some reports on Logan Allen's potential bonus). These have usually been fairly solid projections in years past, but they're just that - projections with a significant amount of possible variability. Feedback is welcome and appreciated. I will update as more info comes in and as opinions evolve. Top Ten Rounds (entire amount counts towards bonus cap)Round, Overall Pick, Player, Projected Bonus1 (7) Andrew Benintendi $3,100,000 3 (81) Austin Rei $700,000 4 (111) Tate Matheny $500,000 5 (141) Jagger Rusconi $384,000 6 (171) Travis Lakins $287,500 7 (201) Ben Taylor $10,000 (signed)8 (231) Logan Allen $725,000 9 (261) Tucker Tubbs $5,000 (signed)10 (291) Mitchell Gunsolus $10,000 (signed)After 10th round, above $100K (first $100,000 does not count towards bonus cap)11 (321) Nick Hamilton $250,000 16 (471) Mark Brakeman $300,00018 (531) James Nelson $200,00020 (591) Yomar Valentin $250,00023 (681) Kyri Washington $250,00025 (741) Andrew Noviello $150,000 After 10th round, possible $100,000 or less signs (count $0 towards cap)

Seems reasonable. Remove Swihart, Rodriguez and Barnes from the SP rankings and it leaves Moncada, Devers, Margot, Owens, Johnson, Kopech, Chavis, Marrero and Guerra in that order. The thought was Benintendi would slot above Kopech and behind Johnson. So the only debate from Law is should he slot ahead of Johnson. It also doesn't seem all that surprising if Guerra jumps Marrero and Chavis or even Kopech if he continues to hit considering the plus defense. I'd still put Johnson ahead of Guerra due to his proximity to the Majors and high floor as a #4/5.
