With the shift in the game towards less offense, Benintendi passed Fulmer as BPA. That's the way I read the pick, and why I'm very pleased.

But where will he rank on this site?

Time for the fun part...speculation. I'd slot him in as high as #10 behind Barnes and as low as #14 in front of Stankiewicz.

"What's his name? Castro?" It's not that he doesn't know Castillo's name, it's just that he only has so much room in that brain and he had to push out some old info to retain all the draft stuff.

Dont know much about this stuff, but his frame is a little smallish for a major league outfielder, no?

Fulmer goes right behind. Some mocks looking good so far if I remember correctly.

And if he translates well to wood bats we got the best college bat in the draft probably. And that's what I don't like about the pick. Lack of record, lack of wood bat experience, mostly maxed-out body. In Ben we trust, I guess. Welcome to the nation.

Yeah, totally happy with Benintendi. I preferred Fulmer, but Benintendi looks likes a quality player. I doubt anyone here hates this pick. Love that he's a sophomore already producing like a junior.

White Sox have been pretty lucky to get Rodon and Fulmer in back to back years at their respective slot positions

Rather have Fulmer than Benintendi, but I feel pretty good about the pick. Five-headed monster in CF: Betts, Castillo, JBJ, Margot and Benintendi.

I like the person that pointed out: Be - Nintendi (as in multiple Nintendos) I don't make many important contributions, so I want to point out that that was me.

In my totally uninformed opinion I would have taken Benintendi too. I'm dreaming of Freddy Lynn.

Not going to lie, my main hesitation about Benintendi is all the terrible spelling we're about to see on these forums. Maybe he should be nicknamed immediately.... something like ... ... Video LOL

College bat performing well in the SEC would position in front of Chavis for me. I could also see him ahead of Kopech but behind Barnes in a reshuffle so I guess that means either 9th or 10th.

Cubs take Happ. Take College hitters early is the clear strategy for them.

Benintendi is not hard to spell, people. Just sound it out for crying out loud.

Brian MacPherson @brianmacp Word was that Red Sox saw Carson Fulmer as a reliever, not the next Sonny Gray. Their decision to pass on him only makes that more clear.
So he probably wasn't even in the mix. I wonder if Benintendi was off the board if they would have reached for someone like Naylor.
