Blessed to have Anroo Benihtenintendi join this system. I've been intendin' to address the spelling elephant in the room, but it looks like I don't have to. I see what you did there.

I wonder what kind of deal we will strike with Benintendi? does he have more leverage being a sophomore? You'd think that you're not going to ever do much better than 7th. It would be nice to save some money and get a good arm at #81.

Benintendi had very similar pre-draft rankings to.............TREY BALL. What's your point? Those players couldn't be more different. Zero comps there.

There was time not all that long ago when my draft board had some combo of Matuella, Aiken, Kirby, Buehler, and Allard all at the top. All of those guys are still on the board currently....

I liked Fulmer better as well, but his delivery screamed "future elbow or shoulder problems" to me. Could be wrong. He does seem remarkably similar to Sonny Gray - undersized reliever who struck out lots of people for Vanderbilt. Though had about half of the track record as an SP compared to Gray, even though Gray also started as an RP.
I like that Benintendi is only 20 and showed the work ethic to immensely improve this season.

Callis takes the mock lead with 7 out of 11. Law has 4 and Sickels (who didn't really try) has 3; everyone else has 6.

Harry Reynolds once again dropping the science. Seems Tyler Stephenson crouches to the same level as other tall catchers. He's a lock to stick behind the dish.

It would be nice to save some money and get a good arm at #81. He does have some leverage and I think he'll go close to slot, if not full slot value. I'd be pretty happy if we could save even 200-300k though.

How people watching this draft understood the Kennesaw Mountain reference by the commissioner there? I am not sure I would want to be compared to that particular gentleman...

Our pick looks a little like Brian Giles. We need to rush this guy, so he will be on Greenville. Greenville needs offense. I would slot him personally. I am just happy we added a talented pick with some upside out of college.

Dont know much about this stuff, but his frame is a little smallish for a major league outfielder, no? "Aren't you a little small for a storm trooper?"
