Everything about the game last night and the first two innings tonight just seems flat. The NESN broadcast has been flat, meh offense, and the late start times is a bad combo for me lol

Quick, Angels got 1 run... Call everybody on the team an absolute disaster! Not really. Only one who has been an absolute disaster is Porcello.

That Pujols hit was the first single of the series for LAA.

If Porcello makes it through this inning unscathed Hanigan deserves a raise.
Edit: of course

This is quality trolling by the umpire. Baseball has to fix this. You can't have unhittable pitches getting called for strikes on a regular basis. That is the whole point of having a strike zone in the first place. The other effect of the absurd strike zone calls is batters begin to swing at bad pitches once the ump has called a few pitches outside the zone, knowing if they don't at least try to make contact the pitchers will pound those spots and the hitters will be penalized with called strikes. The cumlative effect couldn't have been plotted any better than that Brooks outcome graphic. I'm guessing this is all part of MLB's riduculous attempts to speed up the game. Here's a thought, it might be a hell of a lot more interesting if the batters and pitchers knew exactly what the parameters of the zone are because the zone is determined by the location of the plate and the space between the hitters' knees and armpits when they are in their stance. No more, no less, no variance depending on who is working the plate that day and what kind of a mood he's in. Robo umps now. For the good of the game. For the good of America and the world.

Do we even have any pieces (other than the young guys) who could fetch a good return at the trade deadline if we don't reel off some wins soon? Buccholz is hurt, Koji could get something, but he is 40 and on a 1 year deal. Maybe Tazawa? Napoli's value is low as can be, Victorino is meh. I just don't really see any sellable parts of value.

That's basically it. I guess they might be able to get a bullpen arm prospect or low ball lottery ticket for De Aza.

Betts is in a slump again. It's been a game and a half... That was the joke. Sorry, I have to make myself laugh, cause the rest of the time I watch this team I cry.

I wouldn't deal Taz. He's basically a 2.00ERA reliever (minus his nememsis toronto) for 60IP.

Does anybody know where the offense has gone? Gotta think four days off followed by a trip to the West Coast is at least part of the problem.

Crossing my fingers for a big two-game leap here. If they win tonight it's 6.5, Yanks face Felix tomorrow and Eduardo going for Boston. Back to 5.5 after tomorrow? Well, never mind.

Note to Farrell: for the love of God, can you please move Pedroia out of the two hole!
Back to the dl would be even better!

Obviously there's something awfully wrong about an offense that gets shut out on 2 hits by Garrett Freaking Richards, who ... oh, wait, was 4th in all of MLB last year in FIP-.
