I guess Farrell didn't think Shaw had been doing well enough to put him in the lineup tonight.

Nice to see Owens sitting 93 after so many years of him sitting 88-90.

We can't buy any luck. Two freaking stupid soft ground ball singles and a questionable ball 4 to Arod.

Nearly 30 pitches, 1 out record. And the Yankees have swung at about 3 pitches and half of balls were really close to strikes. He's not like Joe Kelly here.

Obviously the strategy for the Yankees is to never swing at anything and force Owens out of the game in the 3rd inning because he's so concerned about throwing over the plate in his first start. And the umps are helping them. He hasn't even missed the glove yet.

I am watching on gameday? Has he thrown more than one change? Because it isn't saying so.

I am watching on gameday? Has he thrown more than one change? Because it isn't saying so. They aren't swinging at anything so the change isn't going to work. Where the hell is the pitch zone on MLB Network? Swihart just had a strike called on a pitch that was 3 inches low. And the 3rd strike also. **** these umps and the Yankees.

ughhhh the YES broadcast:
"blake swihart was ranked the #1 catching prospect" "........" "........" "...... do you believe in that stuff? the rankings stuff?" "no"
earlier they were talking about how they could tell whether tanaka would pitch well by looking at his face

What a terribly uneven strike zone.

Well it isn't going to be much of a game if they are going to give Tanaka that ****.
Add: They're hitting a lot of ropes. Hopefully a few of those will start to fall.

This in from the schadenfreude department: Michael Pineda will not pitch in the month of August after straining his forearm. You don't trade Jesus.

Someone convince me that the cards aren't stacked against the Red Sox and favor the Yankees. I'm normally not like this.

"no" earlier they were talking about how they could tell whether tanaka would pitch well by looking at his face I was just going to post this. He was the consensus top catching prospect before this season, but a bunch of idiots who think that Moncada is major league ready think he is overrated. I mean, I don't like Don and Jerry, but boy, this is ridiculous.

What a terribly uneven strike zone. Par for the course this season with umpires. I can't wait until we finally get an automated strike zone; its long overdue with the technology available today.
