Owens is doing great. But he is too tall to field the ground balls coming his way.

Let's not be too loud in our demands for roboumps. Vazquez should be back next year.

Ok, keep Eduardo and Henry for next year's rotation... Add Cueto, and you have a pretty good rotation to build for years to come.

Nice inning. Now let's see if Owens is atypical for this org and can hold a lead. Oh yes he can. He's the next Lester.

Tanaka gets every single close pitch. He gets 2-3 inches left and right and down. It's easy to be good with that.

My hatred of the Yankees has never been higher. They cannot be luckier and the Red Sox cannot be unluckier.

maybe i should watch the YES broadcast more often. here's another gem: "pitchers don't use intimidation as much these days, but they used to."

Watching Chase Headley play is just another reminder of what Boston could have done this past offseason. fWar of 1.9 to date and Zips and Steamer project an additional 1.2/1.3 for the remainder of the season for a slightly over 3 fWar player. And all that at a 4 yr 52 mil deal. Many on this site wanted Headley over Sandoval and to this point they were right to.

The 0-2 pitch to Young ruined it.
He shakes off a ton of pitches. Wish the game plan had been more clear. All in all I though it was a promising debut. Despite that awful pitch to Young.

This is great, Owens loses his first game after his inherited runners score, because of course they will.
Great freaking first start in the most ridiculous circumstances. Sorry you have to waste about 15 pitches that were called balls.

You know both these runs are going to be let in by Ross and make Owens look worse than he was. Same thing that happened to Johnson.

I'd give anything to see Uehara in with the game actually on the line. Just once.
