I'm guessing the Sox are going to lose a viewer every five days for a while. Bad News Bears baseball. Agreed. I mean, who wants to see Clay Buchholz get lit up every 5th day?

Nice time for a starter to go a little deep. I hope Wright can go one more (at 102 pitches).

Bad news bears double play right there.

P.S. what are the odds that Farrell pinch hits for Young when a righty reliever comes in.
What an atbat from Swihart. Not a ball even close to the strikezone.
JBJ with the nice followup. GJGE.

Farrell doesn't pinch hit often in general.

Estrada's command of the fastball and changeup today is just devastating. He's living on the corners.

Martin doing amazing framing work! CV can't come back soon enough (he's destroying some AAA pitching)

Russell Martin's strikeout swing was reminiscent of Pedro Martinez with the bat.

Well pitched game by Wright after a rough first and nice work at end of inning by Ramirez. Lets go bats!

Feel bad for Bradley third time this year called third strike 6 inches off plate.

Not surprised by what I see on this board. Majority of today's posts come in the 1st inning, when Wright's struggling, then...silence.
Hey, Wright's knuckler provided arguably the best start of this young season, but keep whining about it. Y'all can wish for a "conventional #5 SP", but I'll gladly take Wright and the flexibility he provides to this staff. You won't be complaining when E-Rod returns, Wright is pushed to the pen, and saves the other pen arms by pitching innings 2-7 in just about every Clay Buchholz/Joe Kelly start.
ADD: The Farrell complaining is justified though, CY getting the start against the righty makes no sense.

Best start of the year IMO. Tough line up and, a bad 1st didn't faze Wright. Also ,those calling out folks on SSS are in the wrong thread.

Just to be clear, I still hate knucleballers. In fact I think when we had Wakefield and DiceK I was clear here that I'd even take DiceK if I had to pick the poison.
Not like I was rooting for Sox to lose or Wright to do poorly. Just don't like watching it when Sox are in the field.

Shaw is better than Panda with the glove and bat. Sox made the right call there.

You won't be complaining when E-Rod returns, Wright is pushed to the pen, Of course I'll complain (that it should be Kelly who's pushed to the pen).

All that said, to come in with our 4-5-6 againt their 1-2-3 and this line-up and to slip back across the border with two wins is a great team effort.

Farrell doesn't pinch hit often in general. Only when he can bring in a veteran like Young or Panda. I mean, two outs, 9th inning, who else would you want at the plate, right?

Wright was very impressive today, especially against the Toronto lineup.
To shut down our lineup, sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the opposing pitcher.
When shaw does not try to pull everything, he is A major league hitter.
