Well, JA Happ is a lefty so it was fine to have him play yesterday. But they basically played Rutledge instead of Ortiz yesterday, which is the more troubling thing. But I guess early AM game after a night game and all that plays a part. Except Sunday's game was a day game. Well, it didn't get over til almost 5 pm. That left only 18 hours to get ready for the following day. And now you compound it with the long layover between Patriots day and today—almost 29 hours—and that really throws things off. The All Star break can't come soon enough.

They should have recalled a starter instead of Hembree because Kelly isn't going to last too long at this rate.

Kelly can't catch a break right now and neither can the bullpen.

What's the status on E-Rod? I believe he's still throwing simulated games and hasn't been assigned to an affiliate team for rehab yet.

What's the status on E-Rod? Up to 75 pitches in a sim game.

I would be down to see Johnson start a game. I don't think that's a possibility, they're still building him up. Owens would be the safer bet, I think.

What's the status on E-Rod? Up to 75 pitches in a sim game. That's good news. Hope he is back soon. I think he could be in for a big year. I miss Jon Lester, he would be nice to have. I forget, where did all the free agent money go over the 2014-2015 off-season?

If you guys think this could get ugly, you should be thankful you aren't watching the Celtics.

— Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) will throw 75 pitches in a simulated game on Saturday and the hope is he can go out to an affiliate for a rehab start after that. Farrell said it isn’t necessarily an arm strength thing, more so how comfortable he is moving off the mound, etc. On Saturday via WEEI. ADDED: — Reliever Carson Smith (flexor strain) had a “very good day” Tuesday, throwing 25 pitches in a simulated game. He will do the same on Thursday and if all goes according to plan, he will pitch an inning in Saturday’s extended spring training game. He should then go out to an affiliate and “things could advance relatively quickly from there,” according to Farrell. also from weei. I hopê Kelly's OK but if he hits the DL, I think this is the last time we saw him starting for the Red Sox.

If you don't have the Celtics game on, keep it that way. Boston is going to burn down tonight.

What happened ? I was watching the SeaDogs. These days I follow the game online while I try to work. All I know is that Hembree relieved Kelly after he struck out Dickerson. And that people here said "crap."

Farrell and trainer out to the mound and relievers warming. whaaaa
