Its almost as if Lovullo saw this coming when he agreed to come back.

We all know Farrell's time will come. They wouldn't give that big of a deal to Lovullo if it wasn't the case. I think that with this deflating loss, a poor home stand, and a clear display of bullpen mismanagement, that this may be a good time for a shake up. Maybe it's too early in he season, but I wouldn't be shocked to see it happen. Meanwhile, in a division that projects to be very tight, pissing away games like the three he already potentially has because of lousy pen management is inexcusable. Everyone has a bad day, and we can second guess the manager on bullpen moves especially, but this has been a pattern going back to his days in Toronto. Also, these are the guys - Farrell and the Front Office - who were talking up how is was important to get a good start out of the gate. Vazquez was the first response to failing to do so in the first several games. I wonder how long Dombrowski will put up with his manager misusing resources to the detriment of game outcomes? This doesn't just mean mismanaging the pen, but also playing the C team not once but two days in a row against a division opponent - and potentially the best team in your division - and sticking to that formula with the game on the line in one case just to get a guy "going." Not like the players on the field don't have control over most of this, either, and there has been some batted ball bad luck in the last few days in particular. But it is very unlikely a team will his division without being well above .500 on the home games. Early and only one homestead, but this is just like last year. Cannot repeat this effort too much more, especially when one looks at the schedule, say, in September. But yeah, I'm just so done with this Farrell guy.

Hopefully checking Salem Boxscore will wash away that bad taste in my mouth. You'll get a great look at some players Dombrowski will trade away to try to right this mess lol

What's the time table for Workman return? Late June-Julyish at the earliest was last I heard.

I don't think the best baseball manager in the world makes this years team a playoff team. But agree the use of Taz so much already is crazy. Guy will be toast by June. I don't agree with this at all....especially when Smith and E-Rod get back. Our offense and defense has been great, but our pitching leaves a lot to be desired. I'm hopeful that it can only get better from here.

What's the time table for Workman return? I think "who cares" is a good answer haha. He's not saving this team from anything this year.

The Rays refill their bullpen every year, we seems to have it centered around Taz the last 4 year. Why are they so bad at this?

Even if they're just a .500 team I still enjoy going to games. I've been lucky enough to be 2-0 so far but Farrell has been infuriating.

Farrell got lucky in 2013 but he's the same manager he was managing the Blue Jays - not good.

A BP with: Kimbrel Uehara Tazawa Smith Hembree Ross Layne with Kelly (long relief), Workman, Light as depth is as good as they come if they're managed properly I guess. I saw all teams in the division and frankly, the Red Sox are the best team talent wise.

I'm shocked that Farrell still stinks as a manager.

I don't know how you can blame this soly on Farrell. This loss is 95% on PRICE. HE is our ace. 3 runs should have been enough. Instead price lasts less than 5 innings and gets shelled. You want to blame someone. Blame our so called "ace" for pissing his pants

So you care about Workman that much? Yes I care because I know that JF will get Tazawa toasted by the end of June and we'll need replacement, I also care about this team more than anything else whatever their record is! In fact, I live in a country where the games start at 1o'clock in the morning and I pride myself in watching at least 140 games a year. I'm lucky enough to be the owner of a successfull buisness so I can change my whole schedule when the baseball season starts. A few weeks ago ISIS attacked a city 25 miles from where I live and all I was caring about is who'll get the 3rd baseman job. I breath Red Sox baseball.

You want to blame someone. Blame our so called "ace" for pissing his pants I agree with this. However, the team fought back and, because of bad decisions that were made yesterday (and even several days before with regard to misuse of Tarawa and Koji) and then the ensuing decisions - you have Koji available in a late inning tie and you bring in...Cuevas?... he made victory much more difficult.

Someone help me out here. Farrell just said that koji was only coming in with a lead this game and Farrell had him warming up in the bottom of the 8th as if he were to pitch the 9th. Kimbrel wasn't available as well today then? The guy is a joke. No one questioned him on it either so don't know the answer

Price should have been able to go more than 4 innings. Thus limiting the amount our BP has to pitch. He failed. This is on price. If our ace can't go more than 4 innings it's soly on him. Aces pitch long into games, not get shelled like #4 starter

Regardless if we have a lead late in the game who knows who Farrell would have used , probably still would have screwed up this one

It's not that Farrell is entirely responsible or mostly responsible for the loss. But he is responsible for some of it, which continues a pattern of tactical errors that has basically continued through his entire career as a manager (including his Blue Jays years). He's just a bad in-game manager, and his alleged ability to maintain clubhouse chemistry and be a pitcher whisperer or whatever has not been evident since 2013. There is increasingly little evidence that John Farrell is a good major league manager, and if that's the case, there needs to be a change made. Managers do only have a very small impact on wins and losses, but as long as they have some impact, the front office can't keep running out a guy who actively hurts the team, especially when they have a promising replacement candidate in-house.

Fire the manager, don't fire the manager. This is the third year in a row where the "It's only May" folks will be late again. Due notice to the math.
