This is a good story on Xander in Projo ... I like this bit from him about pressure situations: You don't see guys admit that too often. Xander seems to know what he's about. Makes me that much more impressed with his at-bats in the 2013 playoffs

The difference between Price & MadBum is 9th batting order. Madison didn't fear at all at the plate for hitting. JF doesn't want David to hurt by swinging the bat arkwardly.
JF ordering to DP: take bunt (if runner is on base) or (base empty) take strike 1, 2, 3 & you're out! Too easy situation for MadBum.
BB not ordering at all to MB and trust him to hit by potential 400 ft+ HR off DP! Look at what he did to Clayton Kershaw before. 13 career HR.
Hanley should be sit out tonight. Use Josh Rutledge at 3B & move over David Shaw at 1B.
David Price: He needs to give up ZERO run to light hitting SF lineup (look at their stats) except Belt & MadBum. No excuse.

Made it through a Kimbrel appearance without a Guerra or Margot reference. Proud of you guys. Margot is hitting .313/.369/.443 with a 10.9 K% at AAA as a 21 year old. Guerra: .204/.270/.328. Hurts to look at Margot, though will he develop decent power? Seems a worthwhile trade given the surplus of OF talent on the MLB roster and with Moncada and Benintendi coming up. Wait, were you not asking for an update?

Madison Bumgarner and his career .232 wOBA is going to be the toughest out in the lineup for Price. Fun fact: Price has a .230 wOBA this season. I wouldn't sit Hanley against a lefty. Seems like you want to go with the Betts, Bogaerts, Pedroia, Hanley, Bradley, Young, Rutledge, Price, Vazquez lineup (in whatever order you feel).

David Price is hitting a two-bagger off Bumgarner tonight.

So, Farrell is just gonna keep bashing his head against the wall in hitting Hanley in the 4/5 holes?

So, Farrell is just gonna keep bashing his head against the wall in hitting Hanley in the 4/5 holes? Man, that Travis injury sucks on so many levels: They could've gave him the Sandoval treatment by the ASB. I hope they get Brandon Moss at the trade deadline so they could bench his declining rear end.

Having been to lots of games at AT&T park, I do have to say it is easily a top 5 ballpark for me. I still love Fenway above all others, but on my personal list, AT&T is probably in a tie with Camden for 2nd (I haven't been to PNC yet, which I hear is right up there, too).
Nice park inside, good views throughout the park, quality food options, and a beautiful view of the Bay. One of the selling points for me is actually the fans. They are fairly knowledgeable about their team and the division rivals, and they are very friendly (Red Sox fans around me at the game last night were high-five'ing Giants fans after the win). Seriously, the experience from top to bottom is the polar opposite of watching an A's game at O.co.

Why do we have a manager who insists that Hanley Ramirez has to hit in the middle of the damn order?
Talk about an inning killer.

I know it's still early in the season, but Hanley has been fantastic at 1B this year.

Rutledge is now hitless in his last 11 AB's with 7 K's. Think its time to move on from him.

So that Shields acquisition so far going exactly as expected. 7 runs in 2 innings. Yikes.

Bumgarner at 73 pitches through 4? Successful in my book.

Chris Young has apparently taken away the offensive abilities of JBJ over the last week.
Also, Hanley doing anything positive offensively would be just dandy

Have to say, seems like every mistake our pitchers make ends up in a HR for the other team.
