I think Ellsbury is worth more then anything I've been reading about lately.

If Braves can't sign a CF this year, is Ellsbury for Teheran out of the realm of possibility? I mean relatively speaking both of these players stock are down, but the Braves have pitching depth and how else are the Sox going to find a potential Ace (granted hes more likely a 2/3). I don't hate this idea

Heyward-Upton- Ellsbury would be a really solid outfield, if Ellsbury is the 2011 version and not the 2010 or 2012 version.
I don't think Atlanta would part with an elite pitching prospect after jettisoning Hanson earlier this offseason, and I think the Sox are looking for a ML starter in return for Ellsbury.

I wouldn't deal with the Braves for their starters. Thy ave a history of knowing who's overvalued and cut bait on those who don't get it together the way they are projected to. At least on those further along in their development. Feliz can be argued but he was further away and hasn't rally held up. Teheran has the makings of a bust. I'll almost guarantee the Braves trade him.

I wonder if the Rangers will feel pressure to make a move?

Is Ellsbury and Saltalamacchia enough to get Derek Holland? He's 26, signed through 2016 for $28m, and has $11m options for 2017 and 2018. Lefty with a 93mph fastball and three breaking pitches, good strikeout and walk rates but some trouble with home runs (career 4.71 ERA/4.48 FIP/4.06 xFIP, but had two 4.00-ish ERA seasons in 2010-11). Looks like at least a 4th starter with the upside to be a 3rd or 2nd starter.
If all it takes is Ellsbury and Saltalamacchia, I'd go get him. Elite pitchers rarely make free agencies these days and even middle-of-the-rotation guys are increasingly expensive. Between Lester, Buchholz, Holland, Doubront, and the next wave of De La Rosa/Barnes/Webster, the Red Sox could field a young, deep, and relatively inexpensive rotation.

I don't see a fit here unless they'd want to talk about Andrus which I doubt, let alone Profar. Olt is similar to Middlebrooks and we already have him. Martin Perez has been struggling but is very talented and you'd want more.
I'd Take Perez and Ronald Guzman who was in rookie ball last year but I highly doubt Ben Cherrington would do it.
Edit: I doubt they would trade Holland since they are looking for pitchers. The theory was that if they got Greinke they would listen on Holland.

I really do not want Holland. I just do not think he is that good. I would think about Leonys Martin and Martin Perez for Ellsbury though.

Personally i would love an Olt + Grimm + Gallo (as PTBNL) deal for Ellsbury + Salty.
Then I would trade WMB + Brentz to Arizona in a deal for Upton.
