“@jmastrodonato: Farrell says he’s considering moving Mookie Betts down in the order because of his power. Might bat him 3rd, Pedroia 1st, Bogaerts 2nd”

I want to encourage folks to use the "Hide this member's posts" feature. My Profile, Edit Profile Button, Privacy tab, scroll down to "Member Block List." I'm up to 9 people. Nine people? Right? Naming names might be interesting: a sort of Mendoza line that other posters might aspire to stay above. Maybe even a slogan or two might be born.

“@smittyonmlb: No Pedroia for Red Sox: Betts 9, Holt 4, Bogaerts 6, Ortiz 3, JBJ 8, Leon 2, Shaw 5, Benintendi 7, Rodriguez 1” Any further word on whether this is a day off/day to day thing? I saw the clip from last night. The way he dropped to the ground reminded me too much of Terrance Long at first viewing. Granted, he trotted down toward first after and Long had to be carried off the field but that looked nasty.

Is this a tongue in cheek post? If not, then who wouldn't bring out Wright, and why not?
What game would these managers be playing for 7 games? Handball, whiffle ball, Euchre?
A lot of managers wouldn't bring Wright out there. He was over 100 pitches and just had a guy reach the third in the previous inning and the lead was huge so maybe there was no need for him to come back to close it. If you honestly think it was a given he would return for that inning well I'm not sure what to tell you. It's pretty hard to screw up a decision like that and have it affect a 9-0 game.

We are so bad with the bases loaded. We now have a team batting line with the bases loaded of: .237/.276/.381, yuck.

That and the fact that he just had a scheduled day off, it would seem they are giving him the day and seeing how he feels tomorrow.

I wonder if Mookie could be a 40-40 guy?

It's pretty hard to screw up a decision like that and have it affect a 9-0 game. It's really not that hard, you could take out your ace and deny him a chance for a shutout and in the process make him mad as hell. If managing the players egos is not as important to you as micromanaging stuff, that's fair I guess, but I do care a lot about this psychological part of baseball that may not exist as much as I'd like to believe.

Rodriguez has looked good, getting lots of swings-and-misses on hard stuff up and managing to avoid walks.

Anyone with mlb.tv, do yourself a favor and listen to the Dodgers broadcast. I've learned a lot about Red Sox players that I never heard before. Vin Sculley is awesome.

There was maybe 2 hard hit balls against ERod today and if Ortiz wasn't anticipating a bunt from the 4th best player in baseball this year, it would be 2-0 at worst.

The Red Sox offense need some of those breaks with the bases loaded - just a bloop.

Charge that run to Farrell.
Pitcher struggling and the infield in. It's only the 5th inning. Play back, concede the run for the out
