Hanley still looked safe to me. No, he actually came off the bag and Headley tagged him.

Hanley still looked safe to me. He would have been safe - at the very end he lost contact, but the glove and ball were still on his leg

Well, it's not bases loaded none out - we suck at bases loaded - so two on, one out, Benny up....come on! edited to add....nevermind.

After walking 3 batters in a row, AB swings at the first pitch.

AAAaaaand Mitchell can't find the plate walking 3 men in a row, but the next two guys swing at the first pitch. This is at that place far beyond frustrating.

The Red Sox know they haven't clinched the division yet, right?

I never saw Hanley's foot definitively come off the bag though. He adjusted his foot but it looks like he's still scraping his spikes on the bag. The worst part is that Headley definitely missed the tag, and if the ump hadn't missed that, the call would have been safe originally.

I hate how this offense disappears at times. Some games they just don't even look engaged at all.

On the plus side, I think Clay is pitching his way to that 4th starter job on the postseason roster. Pomeranz to the bullpen. Who would have guessed that a couple of months ago?

This ump is terrible.

Time for the home plate umpire to make it all about him. Missing some of these strikes! Even the batter thought one of those was a strike.

We are getting a serving of Special-Clay tonight. When he is on, it is something to behold.

After walking 3 batters in a row, AB swings at the first pitch. Didn't have a complaint a few days ago when he swung at a first pitch and hit a HR.

Even if the batter is thinking the pitcher is just going to get one over and you're looking for that pitch down the middle, you better drive it somewhere.

Can't get 2-hit by Bryan Mitchell.

Again, Mitchell gassed and Benintendi swings at the first pitch. Amazed someone didn't talk to him after the last AB.

Great reaction by Hanley getting back to the bag and Pedroia staying with it.

The Sox offense is playing pretty tired - roadweary perhaps - long season coming to a close. I do NOT want them to leave this until the Toronto games in Fenway, though.

Sox need to make the Castro error a costly one.
